Got this with the intention of doing another 372 (fingers have now healed after the last one!): thought the caseback was a good shape etc.
By chance I discovered that this case is the same as the no cg jackson fiddy case: same plexi, bezel, midcase and caseback. Tried caseback and it is a direct swap. Athaya is doing a display caseback for the jackson case that will now fit this one also. Stock bezel is not great but an aftermarket one may be in the offing also. Dial is not engraved and Lume is so-so. Text on movement bridges is engraved and swan neck looks better than on most Asian movements. Keeping excellent time arm. Just have it mounted on a time and ammo and looks pretty good out of the box. Watch is a 105a from josh.
Here are some images:
nice shape (same as jackson no cg case)
nice engravings between lugs
engravings on underside of lugs
caseback (text very nice)
now i am not so sure I may just reshape a bit to get more towards vintage shape: lug engravings are attractive and I will loose them if I do a 372...
edit: more case only images:
______
got photos (thanks madeofcheese) and so it begins...
let's see if this one goes west or not!
_______
progress...going to try and keep lug engravings if possible
_______
trial re-bulid with modded necky plexi (lowered)
______
Almost done- minor cg tweaking and a few file marks to go in polish...original plexi back in. Cg closes with a snap without modding: there were small rubber washers between case and cg which i removed. CG screws are pretty good also.
The only further mods needed for this would be a 3 liner engraved dial, a bezel (aftermarket may be available shortly), and that's really it. Athaya may be making casebacks for this case (same as jackson no cg case) but the caseback on this is pretty good. The main thing to be careful of is not undershooting cg on face of watch: is easy to do.
