This is TOTALLY a matter of personal taste.
I have a nearly 8" wrist and am totally comfortable in anything from 36-52mm. Some guys with 6.5" wrists love the 48mm Pams and others with 8" wrists won't go bigger than 45mm.
Wear what you like.

7" wrist here and I have a 42mm. Unless it is on rubber, the 45.5mm wears way to big for me.

rubbers need bigger girth in the wrist as they don't bend well at the lug end.

at 7 1/8 wrist, I'd say you are at the cusp of either.

45.5mm on 6.6" wrist

In my opinion wrist over 7" can handle the 45.5mm but again its up to your personal taste, big or small watches...
