Hello,

New 3kf 5167 is losing random amounts of time at random intervals. I’ve had it lose 5 min one hour, then go 24 hours without losing anymore time. It’s also gone 24 hours without losing any time and lost 15 minutes in 24 hours as well. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern with amount of time lost over a particular interval.

PR seems fine. I hand wind it before wearing and after initial time loss it keeps going without issue and sometimes without further drift. Hands do not appear to be rubbing or getting stuck on each other or dial. I have not been able to witness the exact moment it loses time yet so I’m uncertain if the watch is slowing for a brief period, completely stopping, or if a hand just stops moving for some reason.

Could it need to be demagnetized? Any troubleshooting steps would be appreciated here before I request a DOA movement warranty from my TD. Thanks!

Sounds more like a friction issue imo. But is the second hand working as it should? Possibly a problem with a loose cannon pinion if that’s the case.

Yes, second hand looks good. Are you thinking the minute hand is slipping and its hole needs to be tightened/closed? I can ask a local watchmaker to do that. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, but thats just an assumption on my part. Is this a new watch? In my experience, it’s not the easiest job in the world to find people who are willing to work on these movements...

Yes, brand new. So I can ask the TD for a new mvmt or something here. I greatly appreciate the tips. Thanks.
