It's just the way the movement is made it is always super thick. The one exception is the IWC 3714's slim 7750 and Daytona slim 7750

Gen 5968 thickness is 11.9 mm...of course a 7750 base will be more thick...like 14 mm or so ?

If we compare the actual 5968 reps, which are both 7750 based, we have the YLF Factory one that is 14 mm thick

Anyway, i think that the 5968 is the most beautiful of the Aquanaut, and it is like the last PP watch that i really liked...then, they released the 'new' sporty Calatrava (it is a bit meh in my opinion), and then the horrendous Cubitus, so this is like the most recent PP i really like
