So I got my new ZF 382 and kind of liked the look of the rep strap. Nice colour combo with the watch and it just sort of worked as a package. However....

It felt very dry and a bit like sand paper.

A few simple steps later and it is has come up pretty good.

ALE has asked how I achieved this:

I used a Beeswax product, applied this generously front, back and sides and worked in with my fingers.

Then left overnight. The Beeswax does absorb into the "leather" so we know its not a vinyl pretend leather!

I have done this 3 times now, the strap is much softer, supple and improved surface appearance.

Not sure if I will use a finishing product to give more of a gloss.

Does it smell like leather? To me is Eco-leather, not real one....

The rep strap feels and sounds like layers of plastic grocery bags sewn together. Worst strap I've ever seen.

With so many good strap options available I can't think of any reason to keep it on the POS it came with.

Protip, beeswax is absorbed better and faster if it's heated.
If you want to make that strap better, let it sit in an oven for 2 hours at 350 degrees F.
Now that you've burned it, go visit the M2M Strap Sales section.

Please guys don't be rude !

Chris is trying to help, because I asked him to publish the system he had used to get a nice strap that I had seen from his previous pics

He is kindly explaining the system used, just that !!

You are free of burning or destroying your rep strap. Up to you

THANKS Chris, very kind of you, publishing this post and I think the result is really awesome, even the stitching seems nice

I would not try to get it more shiny I like it like that

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

:fuelfire: tried the oven, but 350 maybe to high as a strange smell of plastic permeated the house

After much ridicule I now have a Panatine Ostrich on the 382
