372N vs. 390N

Want to get a PAM Luminor Base, and I like both of these. Honestly, I can't tell the difference between them in photos. What is the difference?

Also, I can only find these with "H" Factory, and everyone around here is talking up the Noob Factory. How much does this matter? Is there a Noob-made base model I should be considering?

I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the information I've found here since discovering this site. It's gonna be an expensive year.

Hey Dorgon,

The 327 has a 1950s 47mm case, the 390 as a standard 44mm case.
The case, CG, movement, crystal etc are all different.

As for Hfac vs Noob, I don't think noob makes either of these.
As for accuracy vs gen, the 390 is the closes.
The movement in the 327 is a p3000 which has yet to be repped accurately and with the display case back you can see that right away.

I have a 390 out of a few Pams and it is the one that gets the most compliments.

The 390 is a Super Rep only available from H maker at this moment
The 372 is a very bad Low grade rep

I think that is enough to decide

EVALUATION: SUPER REP (H maker)
The gen PAM 390 is a Unique Edition of 2000 Pieces to be sold exclusively through Panerai boutiques worldwide. This watch is like a “warm†version of a PAM 000 without Logo.Only this model has the Luminor 44mm polished stainless steel case, Brown Sausage dial and gold hands. A very good looking combination.
This watch is the last evolution with a Luminor case of a group of Radiomir case watches starting in the vintage Panerai from 1938, “3646†model, with Brown Sandwich dial 12-3-6-9 numerals and sticks and gold hands. This vintage model had solid caseback and Dome Plexi crystal. In 1997 Panerai introduces the Radiomir PAM 021 (Special Edition of 60 watches) seemingly the same watch, but actually very different because it is made of Platinum, has thin sapphire crystal, Display caseback and movement Rolex Cal 618 like the original vintage Panerai watch. In 2006 Panerai introduces the Radiomir PAM 232 a modern SS version of the PAM 021, with solid casebakc and OP X movement. In 2010 Panerai released the PAM 294 a Special Edition of 49 watches, very similar to PAM 232 but with Dome Plexi crystal and Display casebak like the PAM 021.
And finally in 2011 Panerai has launched this 2000 pieces Special Edition of PAM 390 in case Luminor with solid caseback and OP I movement, but with a design and dial based in the vintage 3646, the PAM 232 and PAM 021.
There is an awesome replica from H maker which we can consider as a Super rep.

PAM 372
EVALUATION: LOW GRADE REP
The PAM 372 is a Luminor 1950 case Power Reserve 3days introduced in 2011 N-series.
The gen watch has a Polished SS very special New 1950 47mm case with Polished SS bezel, display caseback, Black sandwich dial with gold hands, seconds sub-dial @9 and date @3 without Cyclops. It has a Dome shape thick Plexi crystal.
The hands have the so-called "double pencil" shape, i.e. both the tip of the hands and the part were the hands connect to the center pin are pointed.
The shape of the new gen 1950 case is different in comparison to the regular 1950 case (have some Radiomir like inspiration) and the lugs are thinner than usual.
An interesting detail is that this watch has like the PAM 359 all polished 1950's style case, however all other watches with this type of 1950 case are brushed, usually in combination with a polished steel bezel. Examples are the PAM 233, 270, 127, 312, 320 and so on. The crown guard with its Reg.TM.engraving however is brushed.
The new case of the PAM 372 has a new type number OP 6835 engraved between the lugs at the 6 o'clock position.
There are other different engravings for this watch: the depth rating (100 meters) is engraved in the underside of one of the lugs, the BB number is engraved in one of the other lugs, and the model number (PAM00372) is engraved between the lugs at the 12 o'clock position.
Unfortunately there are no good replicas of this watch in the market, they have inaccurate case, crystal, engravings, etc…We must consider it as Bad Low grade replicas. They are not at all an advisable purchase

I can assure you that the H maker version is almost perfect. (I have one)
And with a sausage dial and the perfection of the external quality of the polished bezel from H maker, it is very difficult that Noob version is better.

Regarding this pic you can see the quality of H maker polished bezel of which I'm talking about.
Look at the uniformity and linear shape of the reflections in the bezel. It is awesome !!

Just imagine a nice black hide with stitching that matches the patina color of the numerals and you have hell a lot of black faced 390. Would look killer, believe me, I've seen pictures of these over on risti.

BTW, I myself wear black shoes and suits nearly all year, still, 99% of my straps are brown. Brown is very classy combined with black, especially when wearing a light (white) shirt. Your shoe color does not need to match your strap color, just avoid wearing like 5 different colors on yourself
