Why ?
The whole look of the 372 is based around the Plexiglas look.
I've seen a gen 422 with a crystal. The 422 is very similar to the 372 and it looks amazing with crystal.

I now that some gen 372 also have a crystal. Panerai wouldn't have done it if it didn't look good.

Do you have any watch with a plexi?

The 422 xtal is a different shape to the 372. Not sure if an OEM 372 xtal would fit a rep 372 that originally had a plexi.

And really not sure why you would swap even if you could- the plexi is a major factor in why the 372 is such a special piece. But each to their own.

I also highly doubt that Panerai switched to sapphire because they thought it looked better.

I even like the scratches on it. Gives it personality

Stick with plexi for the 372. SF made theirs with sapphire. Plexi gives the dial that “warm” vintage appearance.

I love the plexi look. But I also like the sharpness of the sapphire, the way that makes the dial pop up.
Is that a sin?

Why not just get a different model if you want a sapphire? Leave the 372 and it’s plexi alone :)
