3235 Wind question

I’ve been off the forum for a number of years and not really familiar with the clone movements. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I purchased a M2m vsf Yacht-master with 3235 clone. Practically new condition. The wind doesn’t seem to work. The watch won’t start until I give the watch a shake. Setting date and time isn’t an issue. Is this normal?

How many times are you turning the crown? I have some that it has to be close to fully wound ( like 20 to 30 turns) to start, but a slight shake will get the same watch going from completely unwound. Others start after a few turns of the crown. Is it running well once it starts? Good power reserve?

Thanks for the reply. I give it about 25-30 turns. No change in tension and doesn’t feel like it’s winding. Runs fine when I give it about 3-5 shakes. Runs well. Reserve is less than 12 hours, which leads me to question the winding. Not a huge issue as the watch works and a watch winder will also help. Just curious.

Try turning the crown about 50 turns. My 126610 VSF has an increase in resistance when fully charged, although I admit I never pay attention to the number of turns it takes to fully charge. A VSF with clone VS3235 should run for roughly 70 hours when fully charged. Is that 12 hours after wearing it all day?

Yes, it’s about 12 hrs after wearing. I’ll give more winds a try and let you know. I Appreciate the help.

Didn’t wind. Less than 12 hr reserve last night. I can live with it.
