Hi guys

I need your advice:

I just order my second watch, an IWC Mark XX with SW300 movement, from Li from Jtime. Yesterday Lana sent me the QC pictures, but none were with the caseback unscrewed to see the movement.

I asked for pictures of the movement, and they sent me generic pictures, so not the movement of the watch they chose for me.

Should I trust this, or should I ask for explicit pictures of "my" watch with the caseback open ?

Thanks guys for your thought!

Kind regards
Tommy

You can ask them for it.

Trust but verify.

However I believe opening the caseback voids returns in case of any issues. Standard procedure. Stickers need to be intact for the replica factory to accept it. If you okay with this then I'm sure they'll open it up for you.

Just ask. Since you're paying extra for the SW it's valid.

Thank you very much for your advice. It seemed to me indeed that I could ask for that.

Yes. Remember that TD isn't watch maker etc. Them opening it and showing you then closing it voids not only warranty, but also you should probably make sure when you receive it that case back is tightened. Also any case back opening risks some micro scratches on the caseback and watch. Just be aware of these. There's reason why TD don't really like opening casebacks.

I really to be sure that I get the correct movement, although I have used different TD's, and Li (jtime.io) is the one for me that stands out in communication, customer service and professionalism.

I'll be using Li and Lana as primary TD

What was the outcome for this?

I’m after the same watch and movement. Some TD’s are saying they will sell me one, others are saying it isn’t available.

As they all source from the same factory, I am concerned I’ll be paying more for the same Asian movement or a clone of the SW300.

As a matter of fact: today is that new watch arriving, and I'll be checking the watch movement myself.

I do think I did get the right pictures of the movement, looking at details of the ripped stickers, seem that I will be getting a SW300 with it. I'll keep you posted!

It's a great watch, with an SW300 movement, as stated. So you can order yourself a version for yourself!

Although the watch is great, I chose the green dial, and it's very much green. Maybe I ought to have selected the blue dial...

Good luck and alot of fun with your next purchase!!

Sure, that's a very smooth operator! I like the feel and so, but I do have the idea that the bracelet is not the best of quality. It should be easy to attach and detach, but the mechanics are a bit stiff I believe...

I want to replace the bracelet with a green leather strap, just to personalize it, but it's a great watch and superb movement. NWBIG as far as I am concerned...

Update: and now I see that the date hasn't switched tonight, and manually I can't seem to change it as well. Bugger!

What time did you have it set at when you adjusted the date? Since the sw300 is virtually identical to the 2892 movement, which I have several with this movement. There's been a few times where I've had mine set to around 8:00 PM and adjusted the date and it didn't move forward at midnight. Apparently the date mechanism engages earlier than other watches I've had.

Try manually turning your hands 24 hours ahead and see if the date advances. Most likely you adjusted it like I did a few times when it was already engaged and it disengaged the date change.
