Yes its a fantasy model. With that being said if you like it go for it. Watches are supposed to be worn for yourself and your taste. Who cares if it is not like the gen. A lot of gen owners even customize their gen watches to fit their own style.

How does it compare to the 292 as that is a super rep on ale's list isn't it? I like the size bring 45mm. I did have the 339m dlc kW which was stunning that was 47mm. What is this new hand wound movement like? Reliable?

You cannot really compare it, since there is no gen as reference, right?

No worries with the movement -- these are true workhorses. And if it fails you can always buy a cheap replacement.

Yes I meant about having the same case shape as the 292 and the same dial? Only differences being the blue on this dial.

The cut-outs on the sandwich of the dial are probably the same. But besides the blue lettering and small seconds, also the "PANERAI" is placed in a different position, different size and with a different tone of yellow. Case is probably similar, but difficult to validate from the photos.

Anyway, this is a fantasy watch so any comparison is irrelevant. If Officine Panerai was to launch this watch they could have used a slightly different case, different position for the printings, etc.

If you like it, buy it since it seems well constructed. If being a fantasy upsets you, then move to something different...
