Hey all,
I have a zenith type 20 with a2824 movement. The watch runs perfect and very accurate.

Yet, I like to know if this situation is normal:
When i move my hand gently, the rotor is not turning all the way around.
It moves just a bit (back and forth in its place) making a rattle/shake sound.
It will make a full turn only if i'm shaking the movement really hard.
(It was like that from the moment i got the watch..)

Is it normal? If not, what should i do about it?

Thank you!

Normal. The rotor is a bidirectional wind system so it will encounter some resistance as it winds the spring regardless of direction. This is different then other movements like the 7750 and 21j which are unidirectional wind. If you need, I can try to video one of mine to show you.

My prophecy in general life is "if it ain't busted don't be trying to fix it"

in basic terms, the rotor is there to keep the watch wound whilst you're wearing it, there's gears and stuff under there which will offer some resistance to a gentle shake, it'll spin more freely with a more violent shake etc.....

Lets not forget where this stuff comes from, the lack of a qc department means that movements may not be as cleaned/oiled as the real deal, I would guess that's the reason for it acting like it does..... but as you say, keeps perfect time etc, so I'd be reluctant to "bugger about with it" until it stops performing.
