249?

I am thinking of making a 249 Homage but this watch already is a Homage to most standards, Soo who has the best (correct) 249?

Asad, the problem with sourcing parts for the 249 would be the correct Cali dial. All of the dials out there currently, have the word 'California' printed on the top. If I am not mistaken, DSN might have one that is not printed but you might have to check to make sure.

Correct, DSN has one without the "California" printing, just the "Swiss Made" below the 6 o'clock.

It depends on what YOUR criteria are for "the best". It almost always varies from one person to the next. DSN's certainly won't be anywhere near the cheapest. How much does price factor in to your definition of the best. You saw the pics of my unbranded 249 over on RWG.cc....

Money is not a big deal but I really liked the DVN'S custom 249 homage.

Well, then, provided you get proper QC on your watch (which is a real concern with DSN, sadly), DSN's is deffo the best.

In my oppinion the dial on all the 249s is wrong, as the numbers on the real 249 seem sunken and being filled up with lume (like DSNs new 201 or like the real 005) and not printed on the dial.

Correct, just like all the "sausage" dials ever made for our reps.

DSN's is still the best available, as all the 249 are built the same way.

The California written on the dial apeared in the Basel prototipe of the 249; you can see some pictures at Paneristi site......

seems like someone could do business

with dial replication, and do quite a nice business at that..

prolly not that easy in some regards, would depend on the guy and some might need

original dials to go by.. but with measurements, photos and good description,

what would be the difficulty? and, rep dials could be used for dimensions, to assist the

process, no?
