I received a new 243 (A7750)from a TD today and immediately heard something loose in the case. I used a ball of tape to open up the case and the plate was moving round loose in the case. Does anyone have advice on reinstalling it? Thanks.

Unscrew the bearing from the movement, set the bearing into the rotor, press and twist the clip ring to the bearing. But it's not easy without a special tool.

ugh. I guess thats another one I'll send to Vac for service. The other watch arrived with a cracked plexi crystal. I guess that comes with the territory. Thanks for the help.

I'm also trying to figure out how this could have possibly detached during shipping (or was it just not properly QC by the TD prior to shipping?). Possibly very rough handling of the package?

You received 2 broken watches from the same TD?

Yes but both from the same package. The other was a damaged crystal. He is sending me a replacement crystal and for this, he is sending me a new rotor with it pressed and ready to screw in (I dont have the pressing tool).

That probably the best option mate, but if you wanted to fixing it by yourself, you going to need this kinda tools.

I fixed mine once when same thing happened to me. I was at gig of my favourite band and clapped hands too hard or something... Anyway it was a easy fix without any special tools. Just put that washer so that it goes into its place and turn it with small screwdriver or similar just a little and it locks the weight to its place.

Take a good look at it first and you'll understand how it works.

Thanks. I did give it a try a couple of times but the ring would not lock it. I'm going to wait for the new weight bolt assembly already locked in place. Hopefully it stays together during shipping.

I found a pic. I guess your problem is that connection was too loose at the beginning. Maybe a defected part. Anyway I haven't had any problems ever since I fixed mine. I'm actually wearing it right now:laugh: I hope you'll get your problem solved soon.
