Anyone offering a rep of the 243 1000m sub?
http://www.panerai.com/s_page.xpd?id_li ... tegoria=36

I tried one on at a Panerai event recently (along with the stunning 232), and it is one heck of a sub! 44mm, but very beefy. 1000m, "Reg TM" on CG. Wow! Very beautiful.

The gen will list for about $7K, but only 500 or so to be produced for the I series. In other words, I need some Dark Side help with this one :)

some people say the T SWISS T is wrong, but every gen picture I've seen has T instead of the L we'd expect.

I think this rep looks damn near perfect. I've added it to my list of must haves.

Bad news. The bezel mechanism is not the same as on the other PAM 1000's. Rattles around on the case as you wear it making it embarassing to wear. I checked with a couple of other folks who have it as well. Same story.Every other Submersible with Asian 7750 has a substantially better bezel. Choose 87 or 64 (with their own flaws) over this one if you want a PAM 1000. This is clearly a different factory. Date mag is pretty good though.

Not that I doubt the Kruzer, but I am asking one or two of the dealers about this. I really wanted that watch :x

how about the 024

who has the best one in your opinion and why?

what issues still exist with it?

do the bezel markings come off? is the bezel too loose, rattles, etc.?

date cyclops...any problems there?

has anyone had it superlumed? if so, who can help do that?

Fuck me it makes me laugh when people say who has the best one!!! There is only one maker of this watch so they are all the bloody same - the same goes for most of the watches we see. The bezel on this is absolutely crap - it is so loose it embarrassing - shake your wrist and it will rattle. The crystal is only mineral too. The only good thing about this is the date mag and the genuine heluim valve. I had one - took one look and returned it immediately. Shemae cos it should have been a nice piece. If it get's improved I might consider it but not until then.

Yeah, the bezel markings tend to come of. Somebody posted pictures before I think. Its a pity, I like this model, but such a flaw makes it a total never-want for me...

Just forget that piece. It looks childish anyway, don't you think? And with a mineral crystal?

thanks all

for the feedback.

just what i had suspected, which is why i started the thread.

i would really like to buy a 44mm pan sub, but seems like the quality just isn't there. for $300, a watch should not fall apart or rattle. to be clear, i'm not talking about quality = perfect font, etc. i'm talking about something as solid as a davidsen luminor for example.

There is a newer version of the PAM 87 that has had the 8 and 10 markers straightened (which was it's major flaw). Its a nicely made piece with sapphire crystal but the crown is too thick (we always seem to go from one extreme to another) this time - still better too thick than too thin - as the actress said to the Bishop!!!
