So,
Here i go swapping a strap.... only to push the quick release spring button in, for it to not come back out.

It's stuck in, and I can't get the strap bar to lock in now.

Any guidance on what I can do? I have researched briefly and some people have said to use the screw in type, but how do I convert the lugs to accept screw in bars? The problem is I have the bars out, but the release pin is still stuck open, so the bar simply falls out. Not even sure a spring bar will work.

Is there anyone on this forum that can repair this for me? Man, what a sad christmas for me!

Please help! My poor 243 is now rendered useless :(

Hello.
I stumbled with this more than once, in particular, on the PAM243 HF.

I do it like this:
I apply any suitable oil, with the tip of the toothbrush inside the lug hole, right into the inner hole where the spring is.
Then I put the watch face down, and put one drop also in the middle of the button.
Little quietly seeps inward, through the gap between the button and the ring, and I gently and gently begin to squeeze the button down with a toothpick, trying to make it move.
Of course, there is always a risk that the mechanism is damaged, and at some point, the spring will simply throw the button up, and this cannot be corrected, but in fact, after 10-15 minutes of such washing with oil and "fiddling" the button, sooner or later, a wedge passes, and the button returns to its place.
I'm sure it's just poorly finished edges of the mechanics and dirt inside, and it just needs to be worked out.

Be careful and good luck!

I remember on my former Noob 243 retrieving one with a sewing needle : bend the tip to a straight 45 degree angle, and pressing on the release button inside out though its opening inside the lug hole. It worked ok too.

I’ve tried it all at this point, she won’t budge.

Firstly, try to fix the quick release device by oil, following KOT1917 instructions

If this solution doesn’t work, that means that the device remain in open position and the lug hole is free to pass a bar.

Then use the Amazon spring bars (simulating screw bars) indicated by Woundup. You cannot use screw bars because the lug holes are not threaded

You should place the flat end without slot of the spring bars in the side of the damaged qick release device. In this way, since the end without slot is a bit smaller in diameter than the end with slot, you are less likely to get it stuck with the damaged quick release device.
