Just received my new pam 243M from Trevor. Oh the let down when unpacked. Missing CG screw, noisy rotor and really bad distortion in the magnification crystal.... Things you can't really tell from the QC process and don't expect from such a good factory or TD. Yes I know its a rep and I can fix most of the small problems, I just expected more. Prices for quality reps are now creaping towards $300 US minimum and up-to $700, we should be getting better, and more consistent quality.
Enough of the rant....I still love my new Sub, even more because I have nursed her back to full health.
Now the question is: do I buy a N factory Pam 127 or a 217 Destro? Dam this hobby!

Noisy rotor is normal on a 7750. Trevor will send you the missing screw and as for quality did you but any reps 5 years ago. The quality is awesome now compared to then.

You should get a 127. Great watch! :)

Hi Chris
Sorry to hear that, but all your comments are usual in the reps world.
As frigpig says the noisy rotor is very usual in 7750, missing screws we have everyday (read the forum), and the rep cyclops are like that.
You should try to fix the problems with your dealer before post a claim in the forum. In case you have no reply from Trevor and solutions, then you can post your claim.
Because the flaws you are talking about are usual issues in this market and you have not yet a reply from Trevor.
Please contact Trevor, try to fix with him the issues and if you have no solutions or replies, them you post a claim here.

Hi all and thanks for the feedback. I have a few 7750 reps and know the rotor problem, its a bit hit or miss. I have no gripe with Trevor, he has been great and will buy from him again. With all the hype around the Noob 243 and how god it was, I was just expecting a bit better. I am sure you all know that feeling when the package arrives and its not quire 100% The bonus is I got to spend some time playing with her and getting her sorted.
127 is very tempting even though I am a lefty, thats why the detro was of interest.
BTW, the 243 is a very good guality rep and I would recommend it to anyone, I have the H factory 288K and the quality is every bita s good as that. Regards Chris

I know, it is ment to be GOOD not GOD...... :)

I lost one CG screw a couple of days after I received mine. With all the excitement, I didn't tighten any screw when the watch was unboxed. So, I contacted Angus and in a flash he committed to send me a replacement and then the Noob factory went on a break for almost three weeks, but as soon as he went there again they mailed them to me. Now I'm wearing mine 243m as I write this...., all screws properly secured. It is a great watch......

as for the missing screw, if by any chance your dealer isnt able to send u a replacement, u can give panatime a shot, they do have CG screws available for purchase.

So this was a 243 Noob?

Interesting. Mine seems so solidly built.

Swiss 7750 is noisy too. Inherent due to design of the free spinning rotor. Enjoy your 243, I'm still waiting for mine to arrive in the mail ;)

It is almost midnight here in New Zealand and I have just taken my 243 off, can't stop smiling though. Loctite used and now all good. Will put the Asso. strap on in a few days time, the rubber is really good, better than expected. It really is a lovely watch!

Note on the CG screws size: The 243m from Noob (don't know about H fac) uses a smaller size screw than the ones used in Luminor models. Panatime does not have the required size. You might want to look at WTO on the bay.

I have put a genuine 7750 rotor on my 243M V2 and it is now less noise :)

If You want a noob 217 ( way more accurate movement than 127 !) ask Toro as I think he might have one:)

Be sure that You get the last batch of 217 as the first batch had less accurate minute hand ( to small in the center-hole!)

Forgot to mention that a little ( only VERY little!) oil on the rotorbearing will make the rotor less noice:)

This thread scared me

I got my 243 4 days ago from PT and it seems very quiet and well built! It is my new favorite (I also have the 111 and the 029)

Anyone have any idea of how waterproof it is? I got caught in the rain two days ago and it got pretty wet, but seems fine. Makes me want to test it swimming?

Thanks
