Hello,

Just picked these two beauties off M2M. Loving both but need help in deciding which to keep. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. As the Highlander says - "There can only be one" =)

If you love both then keep bot, that being said I personally prefer the Pelagos 39 but ultimately the decision should be yours alone…

Explorer 1 CF and ZF Pelagos 39. The quality of both are fantastic. If you were ever on the fence for one of these don't hesitate. The CF Explorer fit and finish oozes gen. Its so gen like.

Ever since someone mentioned that the pelagos is like wearing a hamburger on the wrist, i cant get it out of my head, It looks and feels great though.

I'd say the Explorer is more a sporty dress watch and the Pelagos a dressy sport watch. Was that usefull ??

Having said that I prefer divers watches, so for me it would be the Pelagos!

I have my own bias so I definitely say keep the pelagos if you can only keep one. I would encourage you to consider keeping both however.

Functionality Pelagos. Better lume, bezel, on the fly adjustment, so spec wise goes to the Pelagos.

But Explorer imho would be my one and done. It's better designed and more classic.

This is it, it's classic in it's design and will stand the test of time. The Pelagos is on trend at the moment, but that's just how I see it. I have both lol

Thank you all for the words of advice. I have decided that the correct answer is BOTH. If I part with one I would more than likely be on the hunt for something similar. Not sure if it's the watches that thrill me or just the excitement of getting something I don't have. Anyways IMHO these two watches are too nice and check off all the boxes for my small collection.

For the CF Explorer1 - I though I purchased a gen 114300 dial and our good mates here informed me otherwise...damn EBAY. Its a really nice dial however and if I get so inclined, I'll get a movement and use the case to swap between a 114300 and 214270. Got the idea from the great pompompurin. Have hands, dial, bezel. Any suggestion on where to obtain a movement would be greatly appreciated. I think its best to interchange the two without having to constantly remove hands and dial from the movement.

Pelagos - Nothing to mention here as it is spot on and will be worn and loved. Clasp could be shorter though... =)
