Does the 201a have sausage or sandwich dial? I have looked through 100's of pictures and some look sandwich while others sausage....

Well the pre-v's had their own style. It's a sandwich dial but instead of the lume being under the indices, the bottom and the walls of the indices were painted with tritium and making it hard to distinguish whether it is sausage or sandwich dial.
Well, the Pre-V and Pre-A dials are not really sandwich dials, QQ. Sandwich dials are two-piece dials - a lumed bottom plate and a top plate with the indices cut out to reveal the lume beneath.
The Pre-V/Pre-A dials are single-piece dials with deeply engraved indices that are then lume filled. The lume filling is shallow enough that it gives a similar visual effect to sandwich dials, however.
