First time buying so not sure if I am doing it right!

7/18 Just put an order in for the DateJust 36mm 126234 from Clean Factory.
Havent paid yet, they need to see if its in stock.
Talked a little to the Ctime rep on whatsapp yesterday. Nothing crazy, they said it would be about a 3 week delivery, the wrist size is about 19cm and to place the order through their website.

Do you guys recommend Ctime vs Jtime? Ive been reading a lot of reviews and Ctime seems legit, not any major complaints, let me know if you have heard of anything.

Thinking of using Paypal as a way to pay when it gets to that. also let me know what you think.

Link to the watch I am looking to buy

Will update soon.

Hi and welcome to RWI! Glad you found your way here.

Both jtime and ctime are trusted dealers, so there's no question about them being "legit" as long as you've used the links provided by rwi. As for payment method, it depends on what the TD will accept. Not all accept pp, wise is a frequently used alternative.

Please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members area (all subsections), learn the basic forum rules and get some very good advice in the process. A number of questions has already been answered there, this is just an example:

As a new subscriber, you've already been directed to this thread, please read carefully and look through the linked additional threads:

Another good thread to read to understand where RWI comes from and some fundamentals is this:

Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.

If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.

For anything else, feel free to reach out to @eBoy or me, we're happy to assist, advise, direct, explain. Don't hesitate.

Don't be afraid to post noob questions in the new members area. In doubt, use the flame free zone. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere in the new members area, please reach out to @eBoy or me. Thanks for the welcome!

Let me know your opinion on this - I originally was looking at the clean factory version of the DJ36, and overall I liked it a lot but I noticed the fluted bezel was a little soft and didn’t look as sharp as I would like. So I asked if they had another watch with a sharper bezel. Ctime recommended I look at the VSF and I think he may be right. What do you guys think?

Has anyone put a VSF bezel on a CF DJ36? And how much did you pay for it? And who did you purchase from? Would love any advice.

Also I think the lugs are pretty similar. There is a slight difference in the width but so so minor. The main difference I saw was in the sharpness at the ends of the lugs, see the side view. The CF seems to be a bit more rounded like the Gen. but beyond that I think it’s passable.

Actually both CF and VSF DJ models are pretty OK

IMHO, I prefer the VSF Factory DJs as they are slightly better overall compared.

Cheers.

Right? They both look great. I think I’m nitpicking too much haha I work in fashion design so I can’t help it.

For me, the instant tell for Clean DJ36 is the fluted bezel, not just the sharpness, but also how it slopes down. It makes the fluted bezel very small like a Reese cup. I personally prefer VSF for DJ36 and CF for DJ41. CF DJ41 seems not to have this sloping-bezel issue.

I see what you mean.
Interesting, I would have never seen this particular difference between those watches.
The VSF DJ36 looks indeed more like the Gen in that regard.

Yep I saw a video comparing 3 models of the DJ 36 with Black Dial on 1688Time. Gen vs CF vs VSF, the bezel was the install looks off, sadly the OP deleted the video. I just have to at least screenshot it.

Here are some pics from TheOneWatches website and you’re right the angle is a bit steeper but I’m thinking that the color of the bezel on the VS would be a bigger tell. The white gold of the gen is nice and the VS is clearly stainless whereas the CF is plated.

You're going to be able to spot this in real life from a distance ?

The difference between white gold and steel? Or the slope of the bezel shape? The bezel slope I’m not so sure on. I think because it’s fluted it’ll be harder to spot, but everyone has their own set of thorns, which is part of the fun. For the color difference I think I would since the white gold will be sitting next to the steel so you’ll have an immediate comparison - white gold has a warm tone vs steel with a cool tone. I’ll let you know when I get it.

My question was about what you'd notice in the wild. If we do a side by side comparison, many differences can be spotted by a trained eye. When you're wearing the watch out in public, I would say that negligible items will not be noticed by 98% of people.

Agreed, most people won’t notice. But there would be a side by side comparison since the white gold bezel is sitting next to the rest of the steel watch. Sure, it wouldn’t be sitting next to another watch, so you could get away with it - either way I personally like the different metals used on the gen. The mix is nice.
