Hello,

I am looking to pick up my first ever Panerai. Couple of questions:

1. Should i pick up a gen? Or try a rep first then maybe pick up a gen.

2. For a brand new Panerai user, what do you recommend I should pick up first? Looking into a 372.

Thanks guys! Would love to see your thoughts on this.

Get a REP. Try it first and then get another REP. Get the Top Tier one - kilowattore ,Grimlocktime marvels. And forget about GEN.

Find a super rep in Ale’s Pam Guide which tickles your fancy, find a dealer or watch in the Sales Forum, pull the trigger and never look back. Then prepare your significant other for the addiction and it’s financial ramifications ...

Get a few super reps and eventually you will see there’s little point to go gen.

and then you will start wanting to build yourself.

YMMV but for 47mm non-subs don't really rock it for me. Instead subs such as the 569 and 364 somehow just look more balanced due to the bezel. Like I said YMMV

To be honest Pams are all on the bigger end for business look however a simple slim watch like 622 should do. Or you can go with the usual 111 or 005. You just have to make sure to use thinner straps.

I’d avoid submersible line as they are way too thick to hide under the cuff. But they are lovely watches!

Go for any classic Radiomir as they are usually on the slimmer side (most are between 13 and 14mm) and are much more wearable due to their wire lugs. For me a good size is 45mm as it still cuts an imposing presence but can slip under a shirt cuff.

Something like this for example:

Or as someone else suggested, ask one of our modders/watchmakers to build for you a "vintage" model. That's what I did after trying out a few other PAMs and couldn't be more satisfied:

Check out the 622. Very sleek. I have mine on a beautiful Simona croc. If I wore a suit, that’s the PAM I’d reach for.

Here's my 682, not a watch for business but it's a good 42mm size and feels great on the wrist. If you want a "dressier" Pam you can try the radiomirs or if you want to go gen buy the due's.

Liking this one. But still debating with a 111.
