saw the mail man out today delivering my mail and noticed he put a package in there, I walked out immediately and grabbed the package, but it was noticeable torn open, and the box which I presume had the watch inside was slice open and empty,

I ran down the mail man and told him that you just deliver a package that was noticeable damaged and extremely light, why would you put that in a mailbox? He said he noticed it to but didnt think anything of it. I asked for him to check the truck and he just told me that I need to go to the post office and show them and file a claim.

I got immediately to the post office, man tells me to file a claim. Claim for what? the declared value on the package is 25.00 USD, when I paid 310.00 for this tag 7750 watch.

This is the first watch i've attemtped to buy, I was so excited and had many more watches I wanted to order but if i'm now out over 300 bucks, I think im done with anything involved in this, seriously wrecked my day.

I took pictures of the package immediately, I figure it would best If I could handle this with silix alone and get a replacement but I dont know.

This really sucks. 1st watch I really wanted, just getting into this hobby and now I just dont know anymore..

Sorry, that really sucks. I'm not sure how the dealers will address this, since they usually just indemnify against customs risk.

shit.. and I thought the waiting part was the hardest, now you have to hope you even get the watch.

You do have to sign, thats why I asked. Something about this doesn't smell right.

I have never heard of a EMS package being delivered to a mail box. You always have sign, unless you signed a card indicating your waiving the signature.

I don't see how any dealer would be responsable for what you described happened.

Not sure about Silix but most dealers will cover it if it gets lost in shipment or has a customs snag. The loss rate is factored into the price (at least with the ones I deal with).

Contact Sillix and ask what he can do about it. You can look on the label and see if there is a signature required.

Thanks guys, and Yea My first thought was to contact silix, they have been good to me so far, and I feel horrible that I trust silix but cannot put up the extra 1200 I wanted to purchase more watches because of lack of confidence in shipping methods.

I only posted this to vent to everyone, I just feel like complete shit because of this now.

Yes but this isn't that, Customs did confiscate it and package isn't lost. Hes claiming the mailman stole it. The mailman decided not to deliver with a signature even though its required (yea right), opened a package that had a declared value of $25, and risked his job to steal something he had no idea of what was inside.

Does this make sense to anyone??

I have the shipping label and package, and it does show an area for a signature but there is no signature for the "receiver" aka me.
I never signed anything, the package was put in my mailbox, and when I opened it up I immediately saw it torn up. So I ran the guy down and asked what was up? Why would you deliver a package that is noticably torn open? He said " ya I saw it like that too, if you need to file a claim you can go to the post office down the street, which I did. They said I need to fill out a form online form 1000, but This is likely not to help with anything.

I am not lying in any way if thats what your implying.

I'm not implying the mailman stole it, I dont know who stole it, But common sense would tell you that with all the people that handled the package you'd think one of them would notice, " hey this thing is completely open and the box hanging out is empty" Unless of course you were the last person to handle the package, meaning more than likely that would be the person to have opened it.

I copied down the guys license plate so maybe that might help to, I dont want anyone to get in trouble I just want the watch.

.

not necessarily, i was told by canada post that if you have a community mail box..where only you have the key to access your box, then the postman can leave it in there without having signed for it... happened to me many times with EMS shipping.

The first time i noticed this happen i was actually pretty freaked out. i was waiting for a pricey wm9 and just as everybody here does we all keep our eyes glued on the post site to track the packages....well low and behold i take a look at the tracking and it just updated to "item successfully delivered"... i was home the whole day so i immediately thought the post man delivered to the wrong address.. i took a walk down to the street corner and opened up my box and there it was....thats when i called to complain and they told me that if the postman has a heavy work load then he may choose to leave it in the box instead of ringing my door for a signature... kind of stupid if you ask me

Not sure what the case is here but if you did indeed purchase the watch from Silix, the Mods should probably be involved.

A secured box is diffrent, this is not that.

This is a guy who just joined and has very very low post count, claims stolen by mailman, backs his story by saying he wants buy another $1200 of watches, do the math.

Story sounds weird to me.

back my story by claiming to buy another 1200 dollars worth of watches?
I opened up with speakin to silix that I want to make a trial run and make sure everything is ok first, before I order the rest,

I was goign to order omega planet ocean, IWC, Another Tag link, and breitling navitimer, a tag carrera 1887, and a Breguet with brown leather. Really want the PO and brequet.

What do I have to gain from claiming that I received nothing? Seems ridiculous. I have a low post volume because I am relatively new, hence the 1st purchase, Im also A member of rwgforum.com and have posted there many times in the buy/sell/trade section looking for this exact watch, when I was unsuccessful I ordered from a reputable dealer.

Michelle can confirm i've spoken about all of this and she understood that me ordered just one watch was a trial run.

It is ridiculous from a post office guy to leave a package like it with no signature...
Then many packages would be stolen..I think it is impossible if someone in the post office has stolen it that you will not find it..

If that happened go to the post office and search for it..
One fellow forum member here, has told me that they where keeping the watches in the post office, for many days and didn't deliver, so if he wasn't going to claim it, they would take..But when he said in the guys in there, that he was going to email, at the managers of the post, the parcel was found. So in the end no problem, just a little more waiting.
True story and if i am making some mistake here i can ask from my fellow to tell you exactly..
So even post office guys make want to take advantage of you..

Yes I've spoken to the post office near me, and apparently they have a " recovery" center, or lost & found if you will. I'm going to tomorrow to see whats what. Just sucks to get excited and get into this hobby and then on the first run get burned. ( not by silix)

Ok, well good luck then but if you can't see how weird you story sounds then sorry but it just doesn't come off right.

apology accepted, and yes I see that my story is " weird ", if it wasn't weird/strange I wouldn't have posted it.
like I said I have an EMS torn up package that requires a signatures was never signed by me, I would never sign for something completely torn open.

I'm visiting tomorrow to the " recovery " center. See if they have it there. lol. wish me luck

Sucks this has happened to a new member. I've never had an experience like this. Hopefully Silix can help him out.
