Reached out to Hont last night on WhatsApp and he responded within seconds. Asked a few questions. He answered immediately. Showed me a few watches he currently had in stock. Chose a Rolex. Paid. Confirmed and now waiting on QC.

I’m curious for those with more experience. Are these super clones or 1:1 etc quality? Not sure if language was translating correctly as I was trying to ask last night.

Are you sure you have the right Hont? Him answering immediately sets off some red flags for me 😅 what's the number you used? Also you gotta specify the factory you ended up with for anyone to tell you if it's a good one.

To get a better answer, you might want to share the specific maker and model of what your purchasing. Nothing is truly one to one remember. Many of the higher end makers have phenomenal quality at their price points and are extremely close to the genuine but one to one is a marketing gimmick

I'll just post a couple random examples below where I own a genuine and replica of the same or similar model, you tell me which one you think is the genuine....

Please note for this one that the replica maker is no longer around but it still demonstrates my point, which is on the wrist or even at a relatively close inspection unless you have someone who knows specifically what they are looking for as far as tells, they would not be able to tell it's a replica

Thanks for the replies. I’ll be honest. I’m new to watch collecting in general and especially new to the clone world. I only know very little based on a few web searches that ultimately lead me here. But I read somehwere and saw some YouTube videos about the superclone that were about as close to genuine as you can get. But what I also read and saw was that those are typically around $1000 range. And this one I just purchased last night was exactly half that.

But that makes sense if the seller is no longer around.

Here is the picture hont shared with me. But not the QC picture yet. Still waiting on that.

That's what you're referring to as a superclone yeah and that's Hont's desk for sure. Still, I'm curious to which number you're using as there are a lot of scammers out there impersonating our TDs. Hont's number ends in 7655 as of the 5th of October so if you're using a different one you're talking to a scammer. Be 100% sure that you only use links from RWI and don't google the names.

Are you sure you’re talking to the real Hont? Something seems off. Tons of scammers out there.

Sweet. Well that’s good to hear. Guess I just got lucky and happened to message him at the right time.

As for quality. So are you guys saying Hont watches are basically as good as they get these days?

Like I said. I’m not really even a watch expert in general. I don’t know how to spot a fake or what to even look for. But I wouldn’t mind getting a small little collection going off of a handful of watches. Just don’t want to spend $500 a pop and look like they came out of a cracked jack box and I’m the only oblivious one

Hont is a TD. He works with all of the different manufacturers. He’s able to source top tier products as well as low and mid tier products. Do you know which factory your watch is from?

Hont sells the VSF sub for $498 so I'm guessing that's what you got since you're saying you paid 500 bucks. It's top tier. Of course it's not a gen but it's as good as you're going to get out of the box.

May I offer advice? You already paid, so you may be beyond this point, but now that you found this forum, slow your roll and READ. I made the "mistake" of ordering a watch just as soon as I got my toes wet in this world. This hobby is much more satisfying if you ease in slowly, read, search the eyecandy section for inspiration of watches, read about the models and factories... when I started all I wanted was a 114060. It's still my favorite watch but I've found a passion for so many more and I am much more knowledgeable about what to look for when I do pull the trigger on a watch.

But to your original question, yes you got the right Hont and sometimes he takes a while so don't worry, he WILL get back to you it just may be a little time on the QC.
