I would like to share my experience so far ordering a $800 watch in the other side of the world.
After some hours spent on reading the forum about the Daytona replicas I was very tempted buying the recently announced Clean V3 version of the Rolex Daytona 116500.
(Trying to get a gen of this watch is impossible in my country. Resellers do not even accept to put your name on their waiting list that became too long to add any other person in it).
But I did't find this V3 on the TD sites until I found it on theonewatch one.
I took contact by e-mail with Steve and got a quick reaction time to my questions.
Then came the moment where you need to jump in and - like many of you I suppose - I was very hesitant sending my money to a perfect stranger and almost entirely based on trust.
So I ordered the watch, tried the bank transfer payment unsuccessfully (swift code of the bank which is correct was rejected during my online payment process) and switched to the credit card payment which was easier.
My order has been placed on Tuesday 07/02. Payment confirmed and order status updated to 'processing' the same day. Communication is still very good.
Today I received the credit card transaction of my payment and see that it is 5% more than confirmed (total of the purchase price + transport charge +5%).
Don't know why ? will ask Steve
I'll post updates about my order that hopefully will be smooth and reassuring for other potential buyers that couldn't take the plunge yet.
