I would like to share my experience so far ordering a $800 watch in the other side of the world.
After some hours spent on reading the forum about the Daytona replicas I was very tempted buying the recently announced Clean V3 version of the Rolex Daytona 116500.
(Trying to get a gen of this watch is impossible in my country. Resellers do not even accept to put your name on their waiting list that became too long to add any other person in it).
But I did't find this V3 on the TD sites until I found it on theonewatch one.

I took contact by e-mail with Steve and got a quick reaction time to my questions.
Then came the moment where you need to jump in and - like many of you I suppose - I was very hesitant sending my money to a perfect stranger and almost entirely based on trust.

So I ordered the watch, tried the bank transfer payment unsuccessfully (swift code of the bank which is correct was rejected during my online payment process) and switched to the credit card payment which was easier.

My order has been placed on Tuesday 07/02. Payment confirmed and order status updated to 'processing' the same day. Communication is still very good.

Today I received the credit card transaction of my payment and see that it is 5% more than confirmed (total of the purchase price + transport charge +5%).
Don't know why ? will ask Steve

I'll post updates about my order that hopefully will be smooth and reassuring for other potential buyers that couldn't take the plunge yet.

I know my cc company is charging around 2% currency fee on top for transaction in another currency - but 5% sounds a lot; please post any updates ...

Answer from Steve is: some handling fees or exchange rate losses, check with your bank.

Exchange rate should be quite unfair as it is possible to chooses its preferred currency on the otheonewatch site.
The purchase price shown in the selected currency should be the price you pay.
Handling fees could be possible for a CC payment between Europe and China. I'll try to check that.

So there were indeed transactions fees but these were apart charges.
So 40eur extra have been charged during the payment for ?
And 15eur extra have been charged afterwards by the CC company for transaction fees.

The 40eur extra can only be currency exchange charges.
I don't find this right as the price of the order was calculated in euros and the payment has been done in euros.
So I have a total of 7,2% extra charges to pay...

it is a transaction fee scam: Steves account isn't in EUR and Steve will not receive EUR but his card provider bank shows EUR. In reality the whole transaction will be done in Steve's provider bank currency (USD?) and Steves provider charges a double currency transaction fee: Steve's currency (USD?) -> EUR (that's what you see) and than EUR -> Steve's receiving currency (as he has no EUR account) - all in addition to your normal CC transaction fee (here: 15 EUR/around 2%)

I experienced this scam years ago when I paid a hotel bill in SEA - they showed the bill in EUR like they are doing me a favor for convenience but at home I saw the currency fee where simply more than doubled. Probably same here...

Thanks Jazz01.
Yeah I'm afraid you're right. I shouldn't have chosen for a payment in Euro.

I received the QC pictures yesterday already. The watch looks really great.

Watch received on 1st of March. 2 weeks delay to Europe is quite good. Apart from the currency exchange fees scam this transaction ran very smoothly. I'll order again to Steve.

After 20 days wearing the watch all the day I already encounter a failure.
The smaal protrusion that secures the closing of the metal bracelet popped out.
I've asked Steve what to do next.

Is it a common failure ?

Looks like it's broken off...
