16610 Bezel assembly (how is it held in place)

Hi,

So I've been stuck a while as I'm currently doing a 16610Ln build. I've ordered the WSO bezel assembly but it does not seem to click properly in place. The thing is I'm trying to figure out how it is supposed to be held in place to try to sand or get another part that would fit. So my question is where is the bezel supposed to click in place? To the retaining ring or is it held by the tension ring?

I've looking at every video and every thread trying to figure that out. This is my last resort ...

A 5 digit Rolex bezel should snap fit to the crystal retaining ring. It does not need the tension ring (big washer) or the click to anchor securely to the retaining ring and rotate freely. The bottom inside perimeter of the bezel is a friction fit to the bottom outside perimeter of the retaining ring. These pieces should be able to be connected to and disconnected from each other on or off the case.

So it should press firmly onto the retaining ring but be able to rotate freely? I might give up on the wso assembly as when clicked to the bezel is also makes the insert pop out of the bezel. (and it doesn't turn properly to boot)

A guide Ive used in the past:
Yeah, I've watches this like 20 times haha! This works great if the assembly parts have good tolerances. This isn't the case for the WSO assembly. It needs alot of work and sandinf for it to work.

I just got Ginault OR1 with the stuck bezel. It won't rotate it all. This is the exact video I saw thinking it was some dirt gunk built up. Still won't rotate, so I ordered a new click spring. Hopefully, this will solve my issue.

Ah, yeah I see - this is the reason I prefer "gen spec", so I dont have to do as much work. I've used my micrometer more in this hobby than I ever did doing basic component engineering. LoL!!

WSO is supposed to be gen-spec haha ... Should've went with another aftermarket seller!

Fitting aftermarket bezel parts can be a challenge. You can always sand the bezel to give it more room to fit over the crystal retaining ring and turn easily. You could also sand the crystal retaining ring being careful not to sand too much and keeping the same angle so the bezel will 'snap' over it.
You can use parts from other suppliers- Startime Supply has aftermarket bezel parts but they can be tricky to buy from.
Watchbandman50 is another supplier

If the insert won't snap in, you can always use glue.
Hopefully with a little work you can get something that works.

Yeah I'll try to make it work. The insert does snap in the bezel. The issue is that the retaining ring is too high and pressures the bezel out haha... I'll most likely sand the retaining ring while maintaining the bevel. Did you try watchbandman50? Are his parts better tolerances than WSO?

If you can't make the WSO retaining ring work, then I would try one from startimesupply: LINK ($39.95, but you'll have to go through their registration process to get an account).

I might just order the star time retaining ring. I already have an account!
