I would steer clear of the 422 and get the 127 or the 622. I have both of those and they are both nice. Big price difference though. Since the 622 is closed caseback it hides most of the flaws. Nice strap and you are good to go for under 300 (including a nice strap)

For the 127 - if you can swing it, i would get a marlin modded one. These are really worth the extra money. Lots of attention to detail. Personally the 127 has much much much more presence and how can i put this ooomf on the wrist lol. Something about the way the dial looks under the curved crystal makes it special.

Yes, I would tend to agree. Even when it was a few months after release, the watch wasn't readily available from the TDs. More so nowadays.
