Here’s the ultimate 116710LN franken for you all.

For externals, it has a gen dial, gen hands, gen hytrel ring, gen bezel, gen bezel insert, gen click spring, gen flat washer, gen crystal retaining ring, gen crown tube, gen stem, and gen crown. It has a 2.7mm Clark gasket. The bezel turns really well and everything is just top notch.

For the movement, it is a Gen + VR3186 + VS3135 franken. I had a watchsmith named MajorWilliams install the majority of the parts. However he did not install the gen balance. That’s where Mike from watchserviceny came in. He found additional rep parts that weren’t compatible; so I got gen ones and got everything else installed. The full journey is below the photos.

I have a PDF of relevant convos + screencaps of all purchases here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pg-AEKkLiheOmCO2a8kZL4_xpDDv-P5o/view?usp=sharing

This will come with an ARF jubilee bracelet.

I would like $6,500 shipped for this.

Here is a video of the watch itself for function testing.

----

Stage 1:
I bought this watch with the below parts installed already. These gen parts were installed reportedly without any issue with the VR3186 by Major Williams:

- Gen Dial
- Gen Hands (all hands)
- Gen Hytrel Ring + Bezel Insert
- Gen Datewheel

======

Stage 2:
I sent the watch, a new VS3135 movement, and gen parts to a watchmaker hoping I would get everything installed at once, but some parts were left uninstalled; I have noted them below.

So here were the parts that were involved for the new movement:

- Existing VR3186 movement
- Brand new VS3135 movement
- Gen crown + Gen winding stem
- Gen 3135-204 Winding pinion
- Gen 3135-205 Sliding pinion wheel
- Gen 3135-210 Crown wheel
- Gen 3135-211 Crown wheel core
- Gen 3135-212 Core for Intermediate crown wheel
- Gen 3135-213 Intermediate crown wheel
- Gen 3135-217 Yoke for sliding gear
- Gen 3135-220 Setting lever
- Gen 3135-226 Setting lever spring
- Gen 3135-230 Setting lever jumper
- Gen 3135-240 Sliding Pinion
- Gen 3135-241 Spring for Yoke
- Gen 3135-250 x2 Setting wheels
- Gen 3175-260 Minute wheel
- Gen 3135-266 Yoke
- Gen 3185-284 Hour wheel
- Gen 3135-300 Click
- Gen 3135-301 Click spring
- Gen 3135-305 Ratchet wheel
- Gen 3135-310 Barrel
- Gen 3135-410 Escape wheel
- Gen 3135-421 Pallet fork
- Gen 3135-540 x2 Reversing wheel sets
- Clark 3135-311 Nivaflex spring
- Gen 3185-660 Jumping Hours Module
- Gen 3185-670 GMT Intermediate date wheel
- Gen 3155-360 Second Wheel
- Gen 3155-335 Minute and Cannon Pinion
- Gen 3185-623 Date finger
- Gen 3185-625 Date wheel mounted
- Gen 3135-635 Cam Yoke Spring

Here are the parts swapped out on the body/chassis:

- Clark crystal gaskets: 2.7mm, 2.85mm, and 3mm
- Gen crystal retainer ring
- Gen bezel flat washer / flat spring
- Gen bezel gasket

What I learned on this stage:

- For the crystal gasket, 2.7mm was used and has no interference + worked great (and produced gen-like cyclops mag)
- 3185-662 Corrector wheel and it was not compatible with rep parts
- Watchmaker had a remark saying "center had to be slightly widened for the gen canon pinion"

When I received the watch, I noticed the winding was smooth but had a lot more resistance. It passed water pressure test of 5 ATM. It ran at +2 s/d, 0.1ms beat error, and 229 deg of amplitude

======

Stage 3:
The watchmaker for Stage 2 did not want to mess with the balance so I sent this to another watchmaker. And I learned a lot here.

So here were the parts that were used for the movement on Stage 3:

- An extra VS3135 in-case (There are reports that you may need to try the gen balance on more than 1 movement. So I sent another new VS3135 as I bought 2 originally)
- Gen 3135-120 Balance bridge
- Gen 3185-268 Cover mechanism (bought it bubble pack sealed this time)
- Gen 3135-432 Balance complete
- Gen 3185-662 Corrector wheel (I sent this again from Stage 2 to see if a new watchmaker can install it)

Unrelated, but I also had the watchmaker install a gen case tube

------

What I learned on this stage:

The watchmaker told me that 3185-268 cover mechanism plate with the 3185-662 corrector wheel cannot be installed because the rep date seating plate (3185-600). So I bought these new parts in response:

- Gen 3185-600 Seating for date
- Gen 3185-614 Date jumper (this part goes on 3185-600; I am not sure if the rep part is compatible, but I didn't want to risk it and spend waste more of the watchmaker's time)

======

Conclusion of build:

After the watchmaker received them, he installed everything and it runs at 0.7 s/d, with 0.1 ms beat error, and 272 deg of amplitude. It did NOT pass his water resistance test of 9.5 ATM. But since it passed 5 ATM before, I am good with that.

I feel so good about this watch. It runs like a champ and I don't have any worries about winding, changing time, or just fiddling with the movement.

The stiff winding is now fixed and winding feels same as my gen Explorer.
