111N v3 Incorrect serial on caseback, is this even a v3?

With all the chatter about the incorrect 12 (which I have) I decided to look closer at a watch I was previously happy with and also discovered the flaw of my serial number engraving being out of 2000 instead of 2500. The swan neck and incabloc of course, but I knew about that BEFORE I purchased so I had already come to terms with it. I heard the swan neck was a little rough, and it certainly is as it has scratches all over it. That still doesnt bother me as much as the dial and caseback engraving though as I was not aware before purchasing.

Is this watch even a V3? As trailboss had put it in on another post, should we call these V4's so there is some distinction? There are probably a lot of these out there from what I can tell. Just look at other members pics, there are plenty of bad dials. I mean, with how close the various PAM versions are, we really have to nitpick to know the difference. True, these flaws are small in the scheme of things, but not in my mind! I cant put it on my wrist anymore, anybody else feel the same or should I just calm the F down?

I don't think you are nitpicking, they are asking double the price of an H ultimate for this V3 for of some minor details like correct engraving, engraved movement, flat canon pin.

Calm the F down and put it where it was made for... on your wrist. :)

Its still a beauty, no doubt but I'm going to go permanently cross-eyed from looking at that 12 all day!

But it seems noob and/or our dealers are stepping up to help the community in this case. I'm donating right now, I love this place!!!!

Good on ya mate, thats the spirit! :)

Yes, its still a very nice piece. I will bet that you will have more moments of just wearing that piece and absorbing all the compliments than worrying about its flaws.
:lolcina:
I have 2 Pam111s.... one I bought years ago with ALL the flaws mentioned here but I still wear it with pride. The other one I bought recently with no known fixable flaws but I can pick a number of cosmetic flaws if I really wanted to. If it makes you feel any better I have spotted LOTS of scratches on the main bridge of the movement and smearing on the op engraving. My thought process: "For the price that I paid for, its a sweet piece!"

Can't expect perfection for a few hundred dollars. Perfection demands craftsmanship and time, thats why we pay thousands for our gens.

So very true thanks fendushi

To tell the truth, the dial is nearly impossible to discern unless you know EXACTLY what you're looking for. And even then, you need to stare at it for a while and compare to a correct one. And the caseback and movement? Only I'll know. But then again, these small tells may become bigger tells the more people know of it.

If you compared your old PAM though and threw it on the market for sale, I'm sure you would fetch a lower price than a true 111 v3. And if I were to try and sell mine now with others knowing all the flaws, likely its resale value will be reduced. This isnt the end of the world though, but its a fact!

Your watch is not most likely a V3. No deep engraving??
The caseback is from other model, maybe PAM 112. I don't remember the 112 millesimation.

you have the wrong caseback and dial.

if you care, contact your dealer. you have two options.
you can send the watch back, and they'll fix it and send it back again.
you can have your dealer mail you a new dial and caseback free.

just contact the dealer, they'll straighten it out for you.

How long ago have you received the watch? You can follow Ale's and MMs advice and contact the seller if its a recent purchase.

But do think about this... you sold something to me and I said that I was happy with the purchase at the time. Then I emailed you regarding flaws similar to these, how would you feel?

If you compose your message to your dealer with the above mindset... im sure you will get what you want.

Gotta love this place! Keeps my brain working a lot harder than if I just went out and bought a gen thats for sure. All part of the fun...

To buy a gen is very easy you need just know the model and some money.
But to buy a replica....

Your not the only one with the wrong case back, i purchased two watches with Toro, a Breitling with the strap fitted the wrong way round, and the Pam111N with the same case back as you with the seriel 2000.

Toro will only replace my case back if i send this one back, after spending over $600 and having two faulty watches i will never purchase from him again.

I wouldn't mind a caseback like that , I have 2500 on my 112 instead of 2000

Think toro has too many orders or getting slack. Asked to replace a watch due to bad QC and he complained but eventually did change the watch. Also he ships in padded envelope to save cost while other TDs use boxes even for a $90 rep... Maybe the more popular the TD becomes the more they focus on profits or they are dedicating the QC to a 3rd party... Many will say hit or miss as these are reps :)

When i first saw this thread, my first instinct was to run to my watch box and pull out my 111 v3. I am glad I got the correct case back. I suppose this serves as a reminder to everyone out there:

"Read and understand what you are buying before you even commit to buying them"

Haha yea, thats what I did when I first read about the dial and caseback.

Keep calm, then check your QC photos is what I whisper to myself. I was probably blinded by excitement the first time and only looking to see if it had deep enough engravings!

But anybody need a 112 caseback? Hehe
