111J ar sucks. How to remove it?!

Coldi, I'm no expert on Gen Pams. Don't even consider myself an expert on Rep ones, (that would be you BTW).

But here's my thoughts on AR.....Gen AR is very different on different models and different years, at least for the Briets. Do the new Gen Js have strange AR? They may. I know of a few Gens around that have VERY strong blue AR.

If you have an AD around that isn't sold out of these already, go down and check em out. If they don't, then I've had luck with those green scrubby pads.

Im using the case for a pre-v build so the AR has to go...

Popped the crystal out and took a dremel to it.

Be forewarned its a huge PITA. HUGE.

Now to make a hex tube round. hmmmm

out of curiosity.. why start with a 111J? earlier and cheaper 111's had no AR and round tube.

111J's have a great lug profile and no strap notch which is very very ideal for a pre-v.

So once you get around getting the AR removed and the hex tube rounded you have a great case for a pre-v watch. Its a LOT better than paying around 300 for an EL case!!
