Had a little money left over after selling my watches and buying a Seamaster and would like to pick up a Panerai for the watchbox. Looking for something affordable at the time and have narrowed it down to two choices from Andrew, the 111H and 177h. I love the 111H and could use the rubber strap, but I also like the look of the 177h and don't have a Titanium watch. I really can't make my mind up on the decision and thought i'd see what you guys all think.

177H: http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?m ... cts_id=292

Thanks

I think the 177 would be a good choice because it will kill two birds with one stone. It puts a Panerai in your case and a Ti. Plus the Ti watches are unusual.

I have to say BOTH as well, ordered a 177H a few weeks back and I am now waiting on a 111H - love them both............. :)

Thanks for your input guys. While i'd love to purchase both of them, I know that one will be my limit. I just purchased a genuine Seamaster last week and am shocked that the wife gave me the go ahead to get another watch, even after I promised her that my watch buying would be over for months :). Consensus seems to be 177H, so I think I might go for that. I heard Titanium scratches easier than stainless though, so should I be extra careful when wearing this?

when a brushed watch gets scuffed uo you just take some 3m scotch brite and rebrush it. when a polished watch gets scratched it has to be repolished and it takes much more time. i wear my 177h much much more than i do my 111h because of this. i am sure you will love it.

Any prep needed for a brushed surface? Is it as simple as taking a 3m sponge (green side out) and rubbing the affected area back and forth according to the grain of the brush? I have a few light scratches on my new Seamaster and might touch them up with this method.

I emailed Andrew to see if he could swap the rep leather strap with a rubber one for the 177h. Awaiting his reply before order. Thanks for everyones advice!

i don't know what grade the green sponge is. for a bad scratch i use a red scotch brite pad which is about a 400 grade and i finish it off with the light grey pad. you can get these from your local body shop or auto body paint supply store.

This is why I wear my 177 much more than my Gen 111 as well. It's also why I got a DSN 111, my gen never leaves the case now except for special occasions.

I'm going to have to go with the consensus and say go with the 177. Ti is cool because it won't wander around on your wrist because it's lighter.
