Hi All,
I have a genuine 111h with "blind" caseback, I would like to change it with a cristal caseback (see-trough).
Do you think a replica caseback could fit my genuine watch? Any idea who could sell me it?
Many thanks
Your 111H did not come with a exhibition caseback? A 111H should have an exhibition caseback. Regardless, replacing a genuine caseback with a replica caseback would seriously impact the value of the watch. I don't know if a rep caseback would actually fit a gen case. I am reluctant to actually try it.
Pics please? I have heard of "Out Of Range" Panerai floating around on the market, but all of those that I have seen have had the correct *type* of caseback on them, just a serial number that said OOR.
I think an unbranded "homage" caseback would be less damaging to the value than a rep caseback.
Yes, that's a PAM001. I would *not* put a rep display caseback on that watch, personally. If you want to give it a try, however, go for it. A rep caseback should fit.
Well... I did a big scratch on the crownguard, hard to remove with polishing...
So, I would like to swap, but gen is very expensive...
Let me know about the caseback...
Many thanks
That crown guard is nice, but it is incorrect for your watch. It is the newer H series and onward style CG for the Historic lineup of watches. Even then, it's not nearly as nice as a gen CG. Just spend the money and get the real thing.
