Wich one would you choose, when you have to pick one of the two?

Sadly out of the box it has to go to Pam005, as per the PAM review guide, with the open case back on the PAM111, the lack of a y incabloc is a dead giveaway:

"Being purist, these replicas are better than PAM 111 ones, because the solid caseback doesn’t allow to see the evident flaws of Y shape Incablock, some faults in the Swan Neck and other flaws in the movement.
A perfect candidate for a first Panerai replica. "

That being said however, IMO a PAM111N Noob v3, with the incabloc mod and screw change would be the clear winner.

If you are looking for a closer comparison, check the PAM review guide as it has the most up to date material on the subject matter.

Thanks

Great reply! Thank you very much.

The thing is that I'm looking for a new watch for taking the waiting pain away for the Diver V3 lol. And so I want a good out of the box rep that I won't send away for modifications.

I think that after I got my Diver V3 I will go for the 111 V3 as well and send it away for the modifications.

Kind Regards,

NSTNS

Thanks for the kind words. many like the 111 because of the sandwhich dial which makes it really stand out. I think you would really benefit from taking a look at the guide and it will help you choose the best out of the box rep for your style.

although, once you see the review, you will see that you have a lot more than just two PAM options to choose from.

Enjoy the read.

YW, How ever I do really like de sandwich dial but the open case will annoy me since this really looks reppish to me since I know the flaws and so make me less comfortable wearing the watch.

And at the end I could always sell the 005 and get the 111 or I get the 111 later..

Kind regards,

Flaws on the caseback are not that problematic, unless you wear the watch backwards or you regularly remove the watch from your wrist in public, in which case the lack of the Y-incabloc and the shorter micrometric screw will be evident.

But either way, you can't go wrong. They are simply super rep level. :D

As mentioned already if you are going for closest to gen, 005 for sure.

I love the Pam111 too. I think the sandwich dial looks amazing but the open case back ruins it for me. I'm strongly considering one of Marlins modded 111s but they are a little bit pricey.

I own a modded-y incabloc 111 along with some other movement mods and had a stock v3 111 the other day
Had a friend over who is into gens and owns a few different brands but no Panerai
I am trying to get him into reps because think he would appreciate all of the variety he could get for the cost of one gen
I tried showing him the differences between the modded and unmodded movement and he just could not see it
It was after a few beers but the point is the unmodded movement only looks non gen if you know what to look for and understand it
I have seen so many close up incabloc images it is now easy for me but in normal lighting and no magnification with me just pointing my friend could not see the y vs non y difference

I think both are right up there but the 005 just edges out the 111. Just go with your heart. I just received my 111 and the updated 005 came out while my 111 was on the way and I have absolutely no regrets as I prefer the sandwich dial. That doesn't mean that I will not get the 005 in time to come, although I hope I won't - this hobby is killing my wallet!

You should find the answer considering several matters:

- Do you like sandwich or sausage dials?
sandwich - 111
sausage- 005

- You don't mind dial types and can't live with some caseback inaccuracies.
005

- You don't mind dial types and can live with some caseback inaccuracies
Dilemma

- You don't like OP logo?
111

Really the movement differences in PAM 111 are only visibles if you know them very well and, moreover, you have a lens.

The lume on the noob 005 dial is to shiny and I would have picked up a H-factory 005 V2 dial as it is way better than the noob 005 but the rest of the noob is way better than the H-factory one.

BTW is the noob caseback accurat to the genuine?

Is the panerai logo engraving correct?

Has to be 111 for me, and as Ale says unless u know what you looking for on the movement you wouldn't notice.
