Hi Guys,

New UK guy here so go easy on me.

I have decided I would like to purchase a PAM, but which model I have no chuffing idea, I know its down to preference etc however I would like a little help for me to narrow down the options.

I have shared a couple PM's with John442 (who has been a great help) & he recommended the following:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/4th-order-with-lay-pam-82721?t=82721

This is in budget and I love the look of it - & it looks like an automatic movement which is what I thought I wanted.

However I have trawled through a few threads and stumbled upon: http://www.puretimewatch.com

Where guys have been suggesting the new Noob Pam's as amazing out of the box, - As I'm a real Noobie to Pams & don't think I will be doing alot of modding (apart from a new strap) are puretime Noob editions best to go for out of the box?, do they do Autos, & if so how do they compare to Lay's??

I have also noticed that not all Pams are auto (It has taken me a while), some seem to be manual wind . . how do these compare? - do they last longer than the 28800BPH auto's?? & keep better time??

I have been so close to pushing the button on johns recommendation PAM 312 LUMINOR 1950 MARINA, but thought "No I will ask the guys on RWI first" - I also appreciate that they are reps and not perfect.

To summarise I'm looking (or thought I was looking) for the following:

Pam Auto movement like the 312 from Lay - unless I can be convinced that the hand wind is better?

Best out of the box rep for around the same money as Lay's ($250)

Leaning towards the 312 very heavily . . .

Any help appreciated

A 312 it is then . . would you go for the link John suggested? (Lay @ replica watch)

Or is the Noob version alot better?

The one pictured from John's thread is the best version to date. So if that is from Lay and you like Lay, go for it. I feel it is one of the best made rep watches period. You will be blown away at the quality of the build. FYI, the 312 is not made by noob or H-factory.

I like the look of the 312. Did you end up getting it? how is it if so?

312 is a nice watch, just got the 312L. It wears a bit larger than my 111 and definitely is heavier. Can't go wrong with the 312.

I see the newer 312's have low beat 7750's. How much riskier are these to the high beat ones?

Hi Craig,

It has arrived, Looks lovely, Lume is excellent, I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as thick as it is, but with a decent strap from Croc it will look immense.

When the strap from Croc arrives I will post some lovely picks and detail of how I found my first Pam purchase.

Best

Great, please post pics when you can. I am also considering getting this watch. Also, is there a color to the AR and any hint of color on the lume markings?

No hint of colour on mine, & I have ordered a new strap from Croc which will be here next week - I will post pick up then as I only have the head at the moment.

Well I chose Lay before he was removed as a trusted dealer here on RWI - However with that said communication was excellent throughout (he answered my questions within 24 hours) - Postage was tracked and I had no issues with customs.

His site is: http://www.replicamake88.com/

However I will say again, Lay has since been removed from the trusted dealers list.
