Felt in love with her... Looking for a 004 preA for me.

Is there a good source for a out-of-the-box?

Davidson is offering this one: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=131629

Not perfect, but it seems to be a good base for some mods. Dial, Caseback,... what would you do?

Do you want the A Series or the Pre-A? Both of the watches you show are not the classic "Pre-A". They are PAM004 A Series TST dials

The Pre-A is actually a Pre-V 203/A dial with T-S-T printed at the bottom, although I believe there are some Pre-A serial numbers with A Series dials.

Clear as mud.

Ok, it seems to be a TST A Series what I am looking for. I thought that is a preA, because made of old Panerai parts.

I saw that DSN still have this version: http://s1113.photobucket.com/user/d...es/Pam 004 watch/DSC_0007.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6

But the case looks to grey for me, maybe he can switch to a darker PVD case. On the pics its not easy to decide which case is closer to gen. Maybe mod the black one with a CapeCod to come closer.

Has anyone experience in the grey, pencilegrey and black PVD case colors?

Gen PVD from the 90s is gray with a good amount of black overtones. DSN will not come close to that. If you are serious about this build. I suggest you do the following:
H factory Case
H factory crystal (AR removed)
Sead CG
DSN crown and tube
DSN dial
DSN caseback
DSN hands
custom PVD Coating
for about $500 you can get a darn nice PAM004 with these ingredients.

Thanks for your suggestions! :notworthy: That sounds reasonalbe.

I read a lot in the last days in Ales Pam guide and other sources. And started today my 004T project with a DSN set. Will wait for the next steps, want to see the case first.
