Hey RWI, I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner...

anyways, I have to write a 'paper' on a technology, and I as a watch lover chose the watch...(for uni)

The paper is written in 3 parts, the first part would be my chosen technology in contemporary society ( which is due..well tomorrow ).

The second and third part would be the past and future...

Well I am kind of in the middle of my first part, but I would like to ask YOU for information about...the past of watches, the future, or even NOW...are watches really a thing of the past? and just fancy things rich people wear? (yeah stuff like that)

Credible sources would be appreciated :D information on top of your head would be too...

I'll post my 1st part of my essay here, so you may criticize, which will help me to write better :D

thanks!

Nice Topic

Ok, so the future...
Always there will be watches, since we can count we try to tell the time.
we need to be able to tell the time to plan every aspect of our life, when do we wake up, when do we eat, when do we work, etc etc.
i dont think that the wrist watch dissapear, instead become more than a watch, become a complete smartphone and more in your wrist.
And also will be a luxury status jewel
Thats all for now.
good luck

Wrist videophones/smart phones with touch screen and full internet functions aren't future. I have one on my wrist.
Future of wrist watch is a pc with miniature screen in glasses and a pocket HD (Zypad for example http://www.eurotech.com/IT/prodotti.aspx?pg=Zypad WL 1000 ). Check the trading trend while you walk around or are still at a red traffic light. Send an email using vocal controls or airmouse ( http://theairmouse.com/ ) while you are jogging. Or multicapturing devices as the Sixth Sense. http://www.geekologie.com/2009/02/sixth_sense_device_created_sad.php

And prototypes are out already.
