DSSD finally arrived!

My DSSD from Time Shop finally arrived on Monday, and I could not be more pleased with the watch or the service. I originally ordered the V5 using Mark's factory price promotion, but they were out of stock, so he substituted his Ultimate version. I know the DSSD has quite a history, we're up to how many versions now? This one has its flaws, but to be honest, this thing looks like a $10k watch to me. I'm not really into getting a Rolex box, but this one really has me considering it. It's that impressive (to me anyways). Here's my list of pluses and minuses:

+ Great blue lume on the hands and dial. Best lume on a rep I've seen yet.
+ Ceramic bezel is well done, no off centered pearl
+ Glidelock clasp is very smooth
+ Etched coronet @6 is by far the best I've seen, cause you can't see it from three feet away. Barely visible only in the right light.

- Pearl glows a faint green instead of blue, and is rather bulbous
- Dial is a bit too glossy
- Bezel numbers may be a bit too thin

I will say that the minuses are really nitpicking to me. I'm very happy with it as is.

This watch is a beast! It's definitely not my everyday piece, but it's not uncomfortable to wear. This thing really looks impressive. I apologize for the sub-par pics. Quick and dirties at work. Thanks for looking.

That's one of the reasons why I sold mine. Did not get much wrist time because I thought it was a tad to flashy, and there's no hiding this beast!! LOL

That's the ONLY reason I got rid of mine. I have 8" wrists, and it looked like I was wearing Flavor-Flav's necklace on my wrist.
If the crystal wasn't domed I would have kept it as a coaster. But, alas, my drinks kept sliding off.

Once you've worn it for a while and have gotten used to the weight, all other watches will seem chintzy compared to the DSSD!

Well, the good news is, the two real problems, bezel insert and lume, can be fixed rather easily.

The insert is really the big tell, for $40 and some effort, you can have yourself an amazing rep.

All looks good to me.
