I am trying to figure out how to remove the actual bezel on the GMT IIc. NOT THE INSERT, I mean the actual bezel assembly.
I have compared the gen to the replica and amazingly, it has the same 3 oval cut outs with little pins visible.
I have searched all of the rep forums, the gen forums and good old Google and I cannot find any instructions or even pictures of a GMT IIc with the bezel off.
Has ANYONE been able to remove it, and if so can you please tell me how.
TIA,
T

I spent an hour last night searching YouTube for every possible combination of GMT, GMT iic, GMT iic bezel, removing rolex bezel, etc and found NOTHING concerning the removal of the bezel on a GMT IIc.

If it's the same as getting one off a DSSD, good luck. I tried for 2 hours and gave up. I e-mailed BK and he didn't know how either.

Hmmm, so far only the insert can be removed. Remove the crystal then ply up that insert. My guess it's similar to genuine Seamaster Pro. You need a bezel extractor.

when you do this search on youtube? just type '' watch bezel '' i do not know if there is much specific information on this subject? also a parts diagram will help. thats if you can find one?

Thanks Patrick8... But the GMT IIc is designed completely differently and cannot be removed in this manner.
I have it from a reliable source that a special tool is required to remove the gen. and believe that this one also would need some type of removal tool.
Thanks everyone...

You will 99% bend the bezel if you remove it. A bezel extractor won't help.
Why do you want to remove it?

Well, I was trying to keep this a secret until it was finished... But I have a gen bezel and bezel insert that I wanted to put on it (or at least see if it would go on).
I cant say how/where I obtained these parts, but I am about to give up on this and sell them on RF for a hefty profit.

the gen bezel assembly looks like this:
bezelschematic.jpg

make sure you got all the pieces. In fact, I was helping another member do the same. But he's missing a few parts.
If you have all the pieces, you really don't care if you bend the bezel or not because you will be using the gen bezel. Of course it's a waste. If you don't care whether you will bend the bezel, you can definitely pop it.
Take some pictures of what gen parts you got. I'm curious if you have all the necessary parts.
Lastly, the gen insert will fit into the gmt-iic stock bezel. Getting a gen insert in is the biggest improvement. Having the gen bezel also is really a small improvment, just icing on the cake.

thankyou! its hard to find cool ones that move. i mostly get them from youtube and then i will link to facebook to find them. i will also steal information on youtube and make mock pages. slash artpiece's out of there work. so i am big on replicans. but the most challenging thing is video editing. and soundwork. this can be very time consumeing. if you have a overloaded computer? everything is plain just frustrateing in editing. plus the camera markets have you upgradeing every 6 months on equipment. most people are better off with a easy to use webcam. most things in videos depends on replicas. its not cost effective to use the real thing.

mark says that the factory that makes reps can easily replace the whole bezel as good as new. im having doubts about this as 99% of reps are made in a sweatshop. (correct me if im wrong)
