hi all,

im looking for a daytone vintage and always wanted to own one.

i was about to confirm which dealer to get until i saw silix web site.

is this the same as what timeshop and rest of the reputable sellers are selling?

http://www.silix-prime.com/rols020-p-1444.html

also im aware of the seconds at 6 but this seems like the seconds are on the 9.

am i in the right track?

That's a nice one, and at a good price.
Vintage will have sec @ 6 and will be a hand-wind movement. So this one is correct.

The best you can buy at this time, IMO, is from Spin Master. He hand-builds these things including tearing the movement down to it's individual components and re-building and QCing the entire process. They aren't cheap, but mine is absolutely dead-on and very dependable.

Looks great.. I love the vintage Daytonas.

Spins piece looks amazing, but I dont see many faults with Silixs offering.

Are Silix reputable? They have some nice looking pieces and might buy in the near future one or two

I've not had any problems with them - yet! I've received one watch a couple months ago and just ordered two more last week...

That is a decent replica. There are some very noticeable flaws, though, if you are looking for close to gen.

1. symmetrical pusher (gen has asymmetrical pushers)
2. dial
3. movement. its a great and reliable movement, but does not act like gen. the chrono at 6 follows either the main minute or hour hand, can't remember which. So if you intend to use your chrono past one hour of time keeping, then this would not be for you. If not, you can have the chrono hand frozen in place so it does not follow the hour/minute hand.

Mr. Zoso will tell you, though, that this is a nice watch with a good reliable movement, even though it looks far from gen.
