Need some comments on my first BCE

Hi I am pretty new at this forum, and i have done ALOT of reading these last days, I have decided that I am going to order my first rep BCE. The dealer I have spoke to send t me these pictures:

What I want to know is this the "right" one? Can you help me spot out the flaws it has. Is this the right date font?

And I want the white dial BCE, or shoud I get the graphite dial? Have read somewhere that the graphite dial is a better compered to the gen. Is this true? Do some one know if the white is as god as the graphite?

Looks very nice, only thing I can see is the missing tick on the upper subdial, should be one right next to the small 10, not sure if you can get a white dial that includes that tick......

The date is spot on

Mate no REP is going to be perfect. Heck even the GENS have problems at times. The longer you look at a rep the more flaws you will see. Some guys here spend hundreds modding their watches and still they will not be perfect.
Its a hobby. Be relaxed about buy what you enjoy and enjoy what you buy. That way you'll have more fun and even more watches. just my 2c.

Thats as good as you're gonna get with a rep. The bezel is the one to look out for:
the engraving is deep and crisp - like the gen. If that watch is the EXACT one you receive, I'd be very happy. My BCE has lighter engraving on the bezel, which bugs me.

You could switch out the dial, but to be honest the difference is only obvious to a BCE expert...unless you're really fussy

Order it with the steel bracelet....then buy an aftermarket leather strap. Those rep "crocostyle" straps are utter pants.

Other than what was pointed out so far, it looks very nice to me. I congratulate you on doing your homework and not being one of those that posts the question after they make their purchase.

I agree... I have a graphite BCE that has the steel bracelet. It is the best rep bracelet I have run across. I love the watch and I have worn into an AD before. I did not make a big deal of it and nothing was said, but I know that the sales person saw it on my wrist.

Like Mikey said the tick mark is an issue on one of the versions. FWIW, mine is in the member sales section if you want to see pictures of a graphite faced one.

Good luck with your first rep, I just received my first rep and it is a very steep learning curve, you need to have a lot of faith and learn from others who have been doing this for a long time. which dealer are you using ?

With the strap, I have a breitling and if you have a thin wrist (less than 7") I have found the Croc straps to be really bad as they do not bend as smoothly as a soft leather one does, and I have a gen croc strap on my navitimer before and even these are a problem. I also have found the deployant strap is also more comfortable than the buckle, especially with a narrow fitting cuff on a shirt.

if you like it, go with it, date fond is good.
I like the grey or black BCE better, but that is just me.
Nobody will see the tick at 10

Newer versions are available

This is a nice watch, but there are at least 3 versions of the BCE and this is not the newest version available. This is a link to a post about my recent purchase from Hont of a TT BCE white face. Notice that the tick after 10 is there and it is symetrical. I highly recommend Hont for pricing, communication, cooperation, honesty and attitude. Especially attitude, which I found severely lacking from one "trusted dealer."

Do yourself a favor and shop around before you plunk your money down.

if this one is from Hont and is the EXACT one he is going to send you i'd ask him about the grime that appears to be in the bezel markings, it almost looks like rust. maybe it just needs a good cleaning but all the watches i've gotten from Hont were spanking new when i got them and spotless.
Hont is THE Man.
