Once I got that Omega AT thats says Constellation on it instead of Sea Master Aqua Terra I was done with Watch Eden, total joke of a dealer.
Heres what pisses me off and this is to everyone. When you have a problem yes contact the dealer and try to get it right, however don't feel like have to hide your thoughts by not posting your situation. If you ordered xx and got yy tell us, tell all of us, thats why this board is here. So speak up or STFU. I don't want to hear about what happened 3 weeks ago. Why? Cause its silly to sit there like a nancy pants, hoping the dealer will send you the right watch the second and third time. Post what happened put up some pics and in most cases it'll be resolved quickly. But do remember they are reps not gens and as such they are imperfect. But if you get a POS watch and don't tell us until weeks later, well nobodys gonna care.
Good for you Mobius, you got some balls and that I like.
Who the hell are you to tell people to STFU? That was unnecessary! If you don't wanna read it then don't. I agree with you that they must let us know as soon as they get such an issue, not 2 or 3 weeks later but your attitude is just ridiculous! No wonder you were banned
???
Quiet, people. We should all try to keep balance.
To reply to sub4me (banned? I thought sub4me was a respected member of this forum, did I miss something?), I agree with you, WE are really offering a ridiculous parody of themselves. New supplier? Possibly, but why are standards always badly lower that what they advertise? :nah:
The issue, as I see it, isn't that they're using a different supplier. That happens all the time. The issue is that they didn't inform the buyer of the change. If a dealer is going to be putting pictures of watches on their website, they need to be pictures of the actual model of the watch. If something happens, and that watch is no longer available, the buyer needs to be aware of that change.
+1
That's exactly the crucial point.
If it is just dropshipping (which they funnily deny by all means, to their own structural damage), if it's only random changes why don't you buy, say, a 21j cheapy and get an awesome swiss ETA by mistake too? I doubt very much anybody will. The story is always the same. You buy a watch and get garbage. What you see is what you will (
hardly) get.
So, unless their new supplier only gets them scrap metal and there's no way they can find out (and that would be a good reason to rightfully apply apartheid towards them), the problems are the ones we already focused on countless times dealing with WE: lies on website, total absence of QC and elusive attitude when difficulties arise.
I also agree with sub4me that I prefer to be aware of issues right away. But noobs may hesitate posting their problems because they are scared of reactions which aren't always very nice.
On that respect I must admit that I find somewhat unproductive those posts where a guy (no matter if he is not a nice one, that's not the point) is trying to describe the details of a bad experience he had and his thread gets immediately cluttered up with comments like "it's a 130$ watch, what did u expect?" or "that dealer is respected and trusted, I bought 200 mastepieces from him, so knock it off", and if he doesn't comply he gets treated like a POS. Those are not good points at all. A flaw is a flaw, within decency limits we all have to live with those. A blatant defect is totally different. It's an unacceptable lack of QC, when not a sly way to try n get rid of worthless junk. 100$ is more than enough dosh to demand a rep without
defects; and having sold 1000 good watches doesn't help the fact that 1 of them might be a piece of junk and it has to be replaced or refunded. Possibly without the buyer being forced to call the damn cops. We only have trusted dealers in here and that means something, doesn't it? If a member has a problem it has to be solved and a trusted dealer can make mistakes too. Now, a mistake doesn't change the fact he is trusted, no argument about that. He will just reasonably be expected to take responsability, it's mere common sense. Respect should be mutual, don't disrespect a dealer in front of a single occasional problem, but don't disrespect a buyer offering low service or no compensation at all, either.
When a member is trying to have an issue sorted out let's all try to post sensible comments or at least keep the thread clear of arguments. The best information possible on the incident for admins to take care of it. That's the line. It is in the dealer's interest too, to reply, to explain himself getting to the bottom of it. Moreover, it is hard enough for admins taking time to read everything with 22k members and stuff. Imagine how happy they are when an issue they have to go through is 25 pages long, 3/4 of which are silly arguments started by people who aren't even involved in the bloody matter.
Maybe sometimes without meddlers it'd just go like
Dealer : "oh, sry I just skipped your email. Send me the pics again with order number, please and Ill let you know about replacement or refund, ok?"
Buyer "ok"
Who knows?
So.
If it's just a spoiled kid breaking balls with nonsense, it's fair jerking him around. It is right to expose an artful guy's cunning without mercy too. Productive ideas and opinions sure are always welcome. But the habit of arrogantly shushing noobs as soon as they raise a complaint, regardless the nature of the problem, without a leg to stand on, just for fun should be monitored and, when needed, restrained. We aren't damn talebans or stalinists, are we?. I really find that stifling, it doesn't help the forum do a very important part of it's job as it can and should be done. I bet some noobs having problems are too scared of being lynched in the public square to out their issues. The byproduct of that is a dangerous undergrowth of pent up uneasiness which doesn't go to our advantage as buyers nor does it help dealers step up their sales.
When it comes to bs about I am always ready, but some more tolerance could be used.
