So just an update,
got the camera - checked it all out and such - .. it was indeed sealed and 100% new
... woo go ebay !

I asked for help finding a good DSLR (on the cheap)
You all helped, I got it and here's the results (only had it for a few hours and know nothing about how to actually really use it yet

Here are some pics I took tonight -
photobucket decided to scale down the pics and thus some of the quality ... but you'll get the idea
I have a basic Canon 18-55mm lens w/ built in Image Stability - -
To take macro shots you need a macro lens which is $$
but after looking online I found a way to REVERSE the lens so..
instead of it taking pics like it normally would it acts as a macro lens..
(granted these are taken by me, someone who's had the camera for just a few hours - and knows nothing about how to properly take photos so their in focus ! )
That all being said - enjoy
- - As you can see... I really haven't mastered (in the few hours I've been playing with this) the focus feature ...
though - I think that could have something to do with the lens being reversed
anyways - saved me a goof chunk of change doing it this way.
