That is one beautiful watch, but your pictures make it even more beautiful to look at. Just curious what lens are you shooting with on your D80? i always wondered if i need a macro lens for my D40 to take pictures of this quality.

@chuddism: Thanks for the compliments!

I'm using an 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 VR lens, it doesn't have a real macro capability having a minimum focusing distance of 16inches. :)

It sure is a very nice watch.
You also did a good job with its strap, you couldn't tell it has been lightened.
Gratz mate ;)

Thanks all. ;)

Yep, $90 for a rep rubber strap is a lot, I wish the dealers would sell it lower. The gen Ocean racer rubber strap with deployant clasp sells for around $400 onwards at the ADs, and concepta sells the gen OR straps 22/20 for below $400.

The skyland avenger's lug width is 22mm, I think the SuperOcean Heritage 46mm lug width is 24mm that's why the rep Ocean racer strap are mostly seen with the SOH.

@chuddism: I think there's a new version of the 18-200mm VR lens, I bought this older lens relatively cheaper than usual here in Singapore for about S$980 two years ago (roughly US$685). I can see that Amazon and Adorama sells this at around $770 onwards.

But as they say, "it's not how big the lens is, it's how you use it." ;) Spirit and gioarmani uses a high end point and shoot cameras and yet their pictures are waaaay better than mine. :)

madcatlancelot ---- I hate you. LOL I am just kidding. I just put in an order for this watch. I need to keep away from this website. Your pix are beautiful, it made a sale. Greg should thank you.

It's something similar to a dual hornback leather strap, costs roughly usd67 (S$95), not bad huh? :)

Yeah bud this one gives a nice contrast to the gray dial, wish it was thicker though. ;)

Leather strap isn't bad. Maybe not my cup of tea.

just got one too but got loose bolt on bezal :(

They are not screwed in, they have no threads. They will all eventually +fall out. This can be avoided!!

remove all of them. use a tiny screwdriver to turn the screw until they are loosely spinning around. Then use that same little screwdriver or push pin to put force on the side of the screwhead and pop them out. Careful not to lose them.

place a small dot of Loctite superglue gel on the hole, and pop the screws back in one by one.

@ tetz:
Finally, here's a closer look of the dial, the lume dots are ok. :)

@ 3Fingers:
Yes, I changed the strap myself using a springbar tool.
