I think comparing it to something non watch related would help. You have an Armani Suit. You also have a suit with no label on it at all. It was made by a tailor specifically for you by HAND. Cost less than half. Which is more valuable?

I own the gen SMP.
I rarely wear it now.
I wear my Fakey. (It's the whole tailored thing I guess and I don't see anyone else having the same watch )

The brands are to impress other people thats why they are replicated.

Which is the reason 99.9% of people buy reps. And also why they would want the Armani suit. If there is no label to flash you can't impress anyone.

$1500 for 4 or 5 great reps
$35000 to $50,000 for the same in gen

i guess it just depends on what gen you bought and what you had to pay for it. my gmt2c is almost 2 years old, my wife's platinum yacht master is about the same and my ss daytona is new. they are all still worth what i paid for them brand new.
