Signature graphics

Hey guys. I just got my Adobe Photoshop back and its up and running. I am not the greatest at it, but I am pretty good with it.

I know people like to have nice signature graphics, but wouldn't know the first thing to do. I am offering my services to anyone who would like.

If anyone would like a signature graphic, post in here or pm me. I will need ideas from you about what you may want. Everyone likes something different, so just give me a description of what you want, and maybe some pics that you like, and I will do my best to put it together for you.

Just finished my second one, which is the first one for someone else on the board. COLDI was the first to get one made. Here it is:

Would you be willing to post some lessons so that you can "teach" us the basics/tips/tools of Photoshop?

When I get a little bit of time I will try and post a good tutorial on the basics of using photoshop. In my mind there are 4 basic essentials to making a good signature banner:

1: Use the layers for everything its worth. Every single different piece you add to the banner should be on a different layer. This gives you the ultimate ease to move everything around just as you want it.

2: Opacity is a must. You can't have everything looking so bold in your picture, certain things must stand out, not everything. Changing the opacity of certain items, or even all items at different opacity percentages can really make your banner flow much better.

3. Don't be afraid to use the filters. Filters come with photoshop, and you can also get more. These do different things to the picture, and can really make it one of a kind.

4. Blending is essential. Everything must flow. It will look stupid if you have a line down the center of your banner where two pictures collide. You must learn to blend the banner to make everything smooth.

I know this is very general and vague, but again, one day I will take the time and write up a good tutorial on using photoshop.

These are some of my old photoshops.
as you can see .. I wasn't great, but I wasn't bad either.

Apparently photoshoping is not like riding a bicycle.
A few days ago I tried to photoshop a pic of a friend and .. well, not having photoshopped in quite some time.. I found that I apparently no longer know how to photoshop.

definitely lacks the finer finesse of the photoshop's from a few years back.





Now I stick to simple and easy drawings w/ my tablet.

..The work and ideas are pretty cool, although they´re kinda big, aren´t ´em?
Even not having a pre-determined size for sigpics on RWI (which I find it VERY cool and attractive over the other forums) I try to use pics not bigger than 530x150.. That makes the topics cleaner and cool to look at

They are big, because working in small areas can get difficult. I try to make them no bigger than the width of the forum. Height wise, mine was taller than the rest because of what I wanted to do. Everyone elses is a a bit smaller. The size I am using is 700x150. Also, if it becomes a big problem, I can always shrink the entire banner down and re-send them out.

If it really is going to cause a problem, spirit, just let me know and I will figure something out.

Now back to business. I really didn't like the first banner I made for COLDI. He wanted a pvd 195, which suggests to me that the banner should be in black and white and should also be very simple and get to the point. So I went back and re-did his to make it seem more functional to what his purpose was. Enjoy everyone!

These are quite nice Don. If you get a chance, can you work me up something related to Panerai? Nothing specific...... Is it difficult to make them smaller?.....something like the size of Spirits. Regardless, the offer is quite genorous.

...I know how difficult is to work on small areas, and sometimes working with pre-defined areas is even worse. I do work a bit with Photoshop too (the DarkSide banner with the 2 Rolex on the top of the forum was made by me)
I just give you a hint :wink: but it´s nothing to worry about.
