RWI DEALERS RATINGS AND CONTACT INFORMATION

* * * * *

March 13, 2010:
Please note that there is an up to date list of the RWI dealers with key information and links here: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/rwi-dealers-list-and-key-51019?t=51019

December 21, 2009:
Please note that I have decided to remove the ratings section from this post. I feel that this was necessary, given that they were out of date and hence no longer useful or reliable... But all the other useful info is still here, of course.

The Dealers

First of all here's a list of all the dealers included in the ratings, their main contact details, and where they ship from (some of you might like to bookmark this thread for quick reference). Remember that while some of the dealers ship from locations outside Asia, some of their stock might still need to be ordered from Asia (this might lengthen your wait but it's the ideal option if you are worried about customs and it also has the added benefit that your dealer can inspect the watch before forwarding it on to you).

The Survey Respondents

These ratings are based on responses from 116 RWI members collected over a period of one week at the end of August. Of the 116 members who took the survey, 101 completed it in full, and the vast majority of them identified themselves in a separate thread, so as to minimise any potential risk of abuse. Each IP address was allowed to take the survey only once, and I checked all IP addresses to confirm that there was nothing unusual. Most responses came from the United States and Europe. Of course, I don't need to remind anyone that despite these checks and the relatively good response rate, the survey is far from flawless. Please do keep that in mind!

Ok, first let me tell you a little bit about the members who completed the survey. Although they remained anonymous, we do know that it's a farily good mix of old and new members. I believe that having many new members provide information is important, as these are the ones most likely to have made multiple purchases recently.

Membershiptime.jpg

Most respondents have purchased quite a few reps over the last year, which suggests that they are mostly experienced buyers, and hence reliable sources of information:

Howmanyreps.jpg

Survey respondents have used all of the RWI recommended dealers. Some have been used more frequently than others, with Hont clearly leading the pack:

What do RWI Members Look for in a Dealer?

In the survey, I was also interested to find out what makes a good dealer. What are the key factors that members look for when they purchase from a dealer? What emerges from this question is that members really value the following factors:

1. Quality control
2. Good and efficient communication
3. Good buyer reports on RWI
4. After sale service

Clearly, dealers wanting to strengthen their reputation and performance on RWI can start by focusing on those 4 factors.

Buyers Feedback

What follows is a list of comments that were provided by more than one member. Of course, please take these findings in particular with a grain of salt, as they came from a small group of people, some of which might have been particularly disgruntled customers:
  • Watcheden: quite a few members reported issues to do with the quality of their products and complained that their customer service has been getting worse. (Watcheden was put on probationary status on 12th November 2009)
  • Time4Direct: some members complained about an attitude problem, and that he was rude or unfriendly to them. Quite a few pointed out that he's not a good dealer for noobies.
  • Trevor: some members complained about lack of professionalism.
  • TimeShopNet: some members reported poor after sale customer service, QC issues, and poor communication.
  • WatchStation: some members reported quality issues.
  • Ruby: most members who said they would not recommend Ruby said it was mostly due to some bad press she recently got on RWI, rather than their personal dealings with her. However, there are also some concerns about her communication and speed.
  • DSN: members complained about the payment method and in some cases poor communication.
  • Precius Time: a few members complained about his high prices.
  • Silix: some members reported QC problems, wrong items sent, and long waiting times.
  • Pure Time: some members complained that he's not easily reachable or always reliable. Relies too much on Peter from WatchStation to cover for him. Pricey.
  • Narikaa: some pointed out that his prices are too high.
At the end of the questionnaire members were allowed to provide some further closing comments if they wished. Many members took this opportunity, and many of the comments pertained to the dealers. So I have decided to reproduce some of those comments below:

  • - Both T4d and Trevor have been excellent to deal with. Quality products shipped quickly.
    - I would like to further commend Trevor by saying that I bought a watch that didn't suit my wrist, and Trevor allowed me to ship it back and replace another model for me.

    - if u are selling a 200+ watch , make sure dosent come with stupid ugly misstakes

    - Hont is an absolute pleasure to deal with. He answers emails promptly. He individually checks every watch he sends out and he delivers exactly what you ask for. Shipping time is very speedy too. Within 5 days of receiving the tracking number.

    - I wish i could buy from hont but i cant due to his payment process. CTO just doesnt work for me.

    - Ruby will be my next purchase. she handles her problems openly in public very well. considering she does most of this herself and also the kind of person she is. she deserves to be the champ.

    - Precious Time is the best

    - Hont is my top choice as he's a great person and dealer not a robot like Jandrew; Trevor lately has been 'sucky' regarding service in the rep clothing and accessory dept. He sent the wrong items a few times, which is bothersome. River has always had good prices and great service.

    - Some of the dealers are recentaly having pretty bad comments, should take them out of the trusted list if it gets worse

    - Ruby - Fantastic communications, very very helpful. I have not ordered from her as of today, but she will DEFINATELY get my next order.

    - Watrcheden used to be my top, but they've lost too much in customer's services.

    - I find it is better to stick to a dealer you are happy with.

    - WBK provides very good service, but may sometimes overstate the quality of his watches.

    - I would like to see King as a dealer on RWI.

    - Stop Old Members from BASHING New Members about Complaints.... This can be done with information.. Leave the mean spirited comments at the door.....

    - I'm still in the "acquisition" phase. You should have included how and how fast the dealers respond. The most frustrating thing is if you have to wait for days for an answer. This is plain boring ;) HONT has been very quick but I haven't bought yet. But I can't rate him therefore, which seems to be a shame

    - Hont and Narikaa were very close in the ONLY dealer choice, but chose Narikaa only because of language

    - Get more dealers like T4D and hont, they dont even need websites you just ask them for a certain watch and they will quote you... great! :D

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope you found it useful. Importantly, I hope this motivates our dealers to continuosly raise their game and keep demostrating to us why they are our recommended dealers in the first place.

Cheers,

Rooster

Great survey and summation! Should help many finding and choosing a dealer. Thanks for hard work. I hope the dealers themselves see this and take note either by keeping up their service or improving it.

Thx for that, it really means something and will be a great help for all !
I'm glad to see Ruby has improved since the last survey.
Sillix stay were they are (very last) and W.E. should really be followed carefully, as they took a bad direction these days.

Hopefully we get this once or twice a year, it would be great and more reliable than the usual dealers' ratings here and there.

Bravo for this really useful step. As you said, it's not bulletproof... but gives a good idea where our dealers are.

I linked my usual dealer to this thread and invite everyone to do so : it's nice having a survey, it's even better if it's taken into account by the dealers themselves.

Thanks Rooster, for all the work you put into this survey! And let's hope our dealer see it as a nice challenge to improve on their current performance or try to keep it at the high level it is now!

Wow! Thanks, Rooster.

I can understand how some folks (esp. noobs like me) might have issues with Robert's bedside manner. Buying watches isn't a popularity contest, IMAO. On the whole, I view him as a professional and have him on my list for my next purchase.

Great stuff Rooster, we all appreciate the time and effort you have taken to compile this. Some interesting points coming out of the survey.

Would be interesting to compare with the last survey that was done.

Well done. Gold Star

WOW, just WOW... You did an incredible job of putting all of this information together in a way in which anyone could easily understand it.
Thank you very much for your fine contribution!

Thanks guys! So nice to hear it was well received and hope members find it interesting and useful. And of course, congratulatuions are in order to Hont and a few other dealers as well. I was particularly impressed with WBK, as no one had a single bad word to say about him. There have also been a few tragic falls from grace since the last two rankings, and some highly improved dealers. With some small exceptions though, I'm inclined to say that despite some differences between them, overall we have some very good dealers on this forum! And for that reason a big thank-you should be extended both to those dealers and the admin team that picks them and monitors them.

Well done Roo! And well one to the dealers at the top!
I am particulary impressed that not one single person would recomend NOT dealing with WackoBirdKeeper! That's impresive. I have allways maintained that apart from FM he is the only bloke I have never heard a bad word about.

Kudos to you!

Excellent rating treating everyone in a fair way. This is *very* helpful and I can't thank you enough for spending your valuable time to collate the information.

I also found some of the other remarks to reflect my opinion, makes me feel less noobish.

Thanks again & congrats to the top dealers!

May you have six months of good sex, Rooster :D

Kind regards,
Dr.verylong

Thanks Rooster.

By the way, the watches I bought are from the low scoring dealers.
I'm happy with their service. I can't imagine what the other dealers' level is :D

Thanks for the great job, and thanks to all the dealers in this Forum!!

Thanks for taking the time and effort to complete this survey and i would just like you to know how much i appreciate it. It certainly gives a good insight in to the quality of service that we get from our dealers. I hadn't realised how well supported Hont is, my most recent buys have all been from T4D, who does do a fast service with good communication. I would agree that he can be difficult, but overall offers very good service. I'm inclined to give Hont a try next time now.
