Issues with Rocketeer

Rocketeer reads these threads, gets his emails, checks his messages... Business as usual. He just chooses to remain invisible and to pretend he doesn't hear us. It's easier that way.

Oh, and I'm sure Pix's comments are tongue in cheek... I wouldn't worry about it.

By the way, it's not just about the reps... It's all the time he's made us waste, and the fact that he keeps taking the piss. To be ripped off is one thing. But to be ripped off and be treated like the biggest idiot in the world is another. That kind of treatment will make even the most benevolent man furious.

The point is I can't leave someone treat so many people like he did without paying for that... As easy as that.
The point is that we know who he is and where he lives, and that he stole our money and stuff.
It's not a question of reps, it's a question of human behaviour and not sitting like ducks when someone obviously wants to ripp you off: he's an a**hole, a scammer and hijacked Chief's customers. HE has no excuse after 6 monthes.
For this he will pay, one way or the other.
It's not a legal business, there won't be only legal answers. And I'm not kidding anymore, if anyone still thinks that.
So be it.
We had enough discussions, letting him so many occasions to repair his mistakes. He did not care... at all. Continued his lies. I don't know what he gains from that.
I'm done with this thread, and now will act. This guys deserves only shit in his mailbox !!  And I'll make a hell of his life, not here, but in his real life and on Timezone.

ha ha, love the photoshopping!!!

By the way, noticed Pamfried just got banned. How come a moron and a crook like Rocketeer is still a member??

His last login on RWI was only a few days ago, by the way.

And as for my messages, he received and read my last one at 11.04 pm tonight (20 minutes ago). He can't pretend he doesn't get my requests.

Admin, what's the policy on posting details and even photos of proven fraudsters? All stuff already available on the internet of course.

Here are information, which are freely accesible from the internet, it's therefore not publishing protected details :
rocketeeru.jpg

Any of his victim has the very same address available on the voucher they got from RRWP. Here you get his phone as a bonus thx to UK yellow pages.

Anyone wanting his mobile, please contact Rooster, as this is not public information.

I've already reported his legit company TuffTime on http://www.ripoffreport.com/default.asp as a first step, and ask any other victim to do so. There is an other half dozen of such scam report websites existing. URL to follow soon (thx Rooster for making us aware on these)

Those having paid not so long time ago (which I doubt), you should fill in a Paypal complaint. Even if too late, it will be registered. And if all of the 60+ victims do the same, his account might be controlled and hopefully frozen.

Do not be afraid about the fact you're dealing with reps : officially you asked for a modification of your watch or even sent a crystal or more. Nothing can't be undertaken against you.

Any member registered on TZ-UK is welcome to make himself known here : there we will be able to post about his croocked behaviour with watch owners. It seems we can't register there anymore (for some reason), so those who have a foot in the place, let us know please.

Geoff, send all the stuff back right now, send all the money back right now, don't discuss anymore, don't even think about lying again, be aware that you have no other choice.

If you do so, all this thread will vanish from itself and you'll be able to continue whatever you want... elsewhere.

Wow.....I am amazed this thread is still on going. I thought all of us had, or were getting through, our issues with Rocket
Rooster, I am so sorry to hear you have been left in limbo. I honestly feel both you & Guru were the key to me getting my watch in thee first place.

However, I must point out that I sent my UPO back to Rocket to have the warranty work completed and all the issues I had rectified, so far so good. He has kept me up to date, supplied me with a print out of the regulation of the watch and all seems really professional. If he replaces the crushed bezel and pearl, with genuine items, like he promised, then I will feel mightily satisfied.

I have promised to leave him alone for a couple of weeks to get on with things and that is what I have done. I am awaiting an update and will post back when I know what is going on.

I really thought I was going to be posting a new thread shortly, titled 'Rocket is back!'. Maybe that may be a little premature.

Good to hear there's some good news!

I don't think we're going to see a "Rocketeer is back" thread. I think after he deals with all outstanding issues he'll be gone for good. Reps are clearly not for him.

As for me, I just got my Chopard back, finally. I had to shift into sixth gear to get him moving, but it worked. On the Chopard he was requested to do a lume job and a service. So after a little over 6 months, he watch arrived lumed but DOA. I popped the back open and among a couple of hairs in the movement I found a loose screw. Once I tigthened that up, the watch started running again.

As for the remaining PAM, apparently I will find out this week what its fate will be. It's either a finished job or compensation for the watch. I'm not holding my breath, of course.

Currently still trying to help another couple of of users on RWG, who have been made some promises too...

Hair in the movements or under crystals seem to be one of his specialty.
Either he has some animals in his workshop, or he's getting very old...
In both cases it just confirms this guy has no clue about what horology is.

Please, all, report his legal activity TuffTime on all scam report sites, as well as post on TZ UK where he has a daily presence.

He can't get out clean from this story and there's only one way : tar and feather !!

It's so unfair that the one who helped us actively, Rooster, is the one that gets DOA watches...

Don't let the thread die, until everyone has his property back !!!

I can't have an ounce of compassion for Geoff Dedman, he's a danger for the community and for himself : he does not seem aware of the bad he's doing... :x

Ok, just thought I'd update everyone. So after I made the post above nothing happened, as expected. A few more emails and calls led to more lies and promises in response, including a list of the medications he claims to be on. So I gave him another few days. And nothing happened. Yesterday I reached saturation point and gave him a 24 hour ultimatum to refund the money. The money arrived today, with an email whinging and moaning about the amount that I requested. The amount that I requested is the money I paid for the watch converted at today's exchange rate from USD to GBP. When I bought the watch many months ago, the USD was actually a lot stronger, so Geoff just got a good a deal. Not to mention that I should have asked for compensation for the 6-plus months of lies and bullshit I got from him. Also, not to mention that I never got a full refund for the lousy job on the Rolex, the DOA Chopard, and the botched BCE (and I still had to pay a small fortune to get it fixed afterwards). He has some balls making a fuss about the refund.

As an aside, I did eventually manage to fix the Chopard. After removing Geoff's pubes from the movement and tightening up a few screws that he had left loose, the watch started ticking again.

So that's the end of the saga for me, finally, after nearly 7 months. I sent him a bunch of watches, he managed to screw up every single one of them, and I lost money and a whole lot of time and energy. What he was thinking, I have no idea. I don't think he started off with the intention of ripping off people. He just tried to chew more than he could bite. And then when shit hit the fan, he did turn into a lying crook to save his ass. Hopefully this is a lesson for everyone.

If anyone else still has issues with him, let us know. I'd be happy to continue helping anyone with outstanding issues. I know there are still a few RWG members who are waiting for their watches and crystals.

Thanks Geoff! [smilie=pottytrain2.gif]

Great news :D
And confirmation that Geoff Dedman is the stupidest watchsmith on Earth. [smilie=cussing.gif]

If no other RWI member as issues with him, I think that it is now time to kick him out of our community... I had secretely and now publicly hoped he would be banned from our home, RWI, for the next 5 generations.

FYI, there's still a thread open on RWG, but since Rooster does not lead it anymore, nobody cares anymore as well...

The end of a ridiculous tale ?

A lesson in any case, we should remember one thing : never trust any modder who has not been approved by the administration team, even if he's recommended byan established member (Chieftang in this case, but it could have been anyone).
Needless to say that there's no way either to go naively to a modder recommended by someone you don't know...

I am still reading this and monitoring the situation.

My UPO is still with Geoff. There now seems to be a problem with the crown not screwing onto the tube. Both these parts are genuine, fitted by Rocket.
I assume the crushed bezel insert and pearl have been replaced. We just need a spacer, or something now and I hope to have the watch back.

This was a two week fix and I am now into week three. To be fair, though, I have told him to take his time and get it right.

I will keep everyone informed.

PS
Pix, just read your post about hairs & animals in the workshop.....Class, man!

The way I figure it is I spent 500GBP on the watch. It was in a poor state, so
Geoff offered to make good with genuine parts. What did I have to lose? I live in the UK and can easily get my watch back should the need arise. He was offering to do the work under warranty, so the financial impact would be minimal. Also, I bought another couple of reps to tide me over until this beauty was back in my possesion.

I am not niaive or anything. I have dealt with Geoff before and have witnessed his fobbing off technique first hand. I was honest and fair with him and asked him to reciprocate.
I have only sent one email to him in three weeks asking for a progress report. I am trying to back off and not hassle him.

Things started off very positively, but seem to be slowing down. I fear I am going to be back to square one, but I am prepared to sit and wait and give him time to make good.

I will keep you informed when I have more updates.

i have fullest understanding for people getting massively upset....and harsh words.

if you have never experienced such a dilemma.....you can not even imagine what headache and pain in the butt it is.

especially i feel sorry for Rooster....propably with the longest and most extend history in dealing with crooks like that.

there is no such thing as UNDERSTANDING what Rocketeer does.....6 month ?

screw this guy.

So true, H_U!

And by the way, I should point out that though I managed to fix the Chopard, it only worked for a little while. So now I still have to send it to my watchmaker to get it properly fixed. What I don't understand is how this guy ever came to think that he could work on watches?? He killed the four that I sent him. Each and every single one of them.

I do feel sorry for anyone who still has expensive reps with him. The best solution would be to ask Geoff to keep the rep and provide money compensation instead. But he will refuse to do that if the amount in question is too much. So he will keep butchering that watch instead and drag on for months... And then in the end you still have to send the watch to a real watchmaker to get it fixed...

Such a sad story. Way too much time, energy, patience and money being wasted. Quite a few RWG members are still struggling. I'm still trying to lend a hand, but there's only so much that can be done.

I received my watch back last week. I was kept up to date with the progress with a very impressive user portal.

The watch arrived back well packaged and delivered on time. The watch looks lovely. The finish of the dial is excellent and the crystal is clear and free of marks. Rocket even corrected the logo feet for me foc. The bezel is now spot on too!

My only couple of negatives are the lume of the hands is now different to the dial. Not massively different but the hands glow long after the dial goes out. The case back has lost it's serial number (which lead me to believe it has had a new case & dial). The pearl looks like a stock rep item & not the genuine I was promised.

Time keeping is excellent and it is supposedly water proof (not dared test it).

I have mentioned the dissapearing serial number to him and he denies swapping them over. I am happy enough with the rest of the work to conclude this transaction. I will whip the back off and make sure the thing is still a genuine ETA and then I will post some pictures and feedback.
