It is disturbing me. Sure I can wear it, but still - very annoying. I don't think I'm weird, I just like to make the best of things. If I have a rep I want it to be as good as it can get, especially when it's just a small detail that i believe shouldn't be too hard for the makers to fix. It just feels lazy because the rest of the watch is beautifully done.

Totally agree. I have the same problem with mine. If you are going to say it is a rep at least say that is the best rep.

I'm curious about the change clasp on GMT iic. I have no issues with mine and still a lot better than the older clasp on GMT.

He is talking about the engraving on the inside part of the clasp.

It´s f***ing crappy, just a smudge and barely visible, when it should be a nice black engraving with depth on it. All sport rollies have crappy engravings on the clasp, except for the DEEPSEA v3 and above, and the "new factory" Milgauss 40mm. Those have perfect engravings on the clasps.

Look at this GEN clasp and compare to yours...See how the "ROLEX" and the decoration is made? VERY Sharp, and with depth:

...now get yours and compare.

I agree that it´s really annoying that a factory can get a whole watch so well done, and leave this detail just out of dumbness or lazyness...and not a single update was done for it, but on the DEEPSEA, they fixed this crap.

Cheers,
Spirit.

It is crap, but I can't see it when it's on my wrist or when I'm asleep, what I can see is a misaligned cyclops but who can't?

It does not bother me at all especially while wearing it on my wrist at least the engraving is there on clasps which is better than no engraving.

if you tell somebody its a fake and go on saying at least its the best fake, their minds wont change significantly of what they think of your fake watch. my friends find my fake watches incredible... why? because they are fooled by the look, feel and quality not the pearl, font, crown guards, crown, clasp engravings, rehaut depth, bezel inert, date wheel, lug hole, hour markers, ICHS, cannon pin, blah, blah blah.... they dont notice that. these reps are truly amazing!

granted i hear where your coming from. its an easy fix but you bought them anyways. thats the problem. these factories arent going to fix these inaccuracies when people keep buying them. the sub for example is the most popular and most repped watch ever. they should technically be a super rep right out of the box, but its not. why? because people keep buying the faulty ones! so when we talk about them [factories] being lazy, they are really not. like any business, the cost to benefit in fixing these small inaccuracies only benefit the minority hardcore collectors and is truly not worth it when they sell like crazy anyways.

Well, I buy my reps for my pleasure, and as many of us here, a second (or even first hobby) other than watches collecting is photography.

For that photography hobby, we like to take macro shots with nice backgrounds and stuff, and on THESE shots, these little crapworks that the rep factories do indeed annoy me - and the other mates who also share this thought about "at least make it be the best one as you can"

Not worried about the "loupe police" or whatever, and there are things that don´t bother me on my watches. But THIS one...engravings in particular, do annoy me alot, and it´s a matter of personal taste...
If it wasn´t for these little details, the hobby wouldn´t have anything to do, nothing to mod, just buying canal street watches would suffice..Why not getting the clear caseback? why not the brass cases? Each one has his own mind :) nobody ever called me out, anywhere. and I don´t believe anyone will. Not because of these details that nobody can see. But even so, I still want something that is better and amuse my tastes on these little details.

:D

Cheers,
Spirit.
