Tracking my DSSD through the USPS. According to them it's in SF Customs. Is there are typical time it takes to get through customs or is it just a crap shoot? Or is USPS tracking crap?

Ive seen the tracking show 15 minutes, and Ive seen it take 6 days...
Depends on volume, and how many coffee breaks the agents are taking that day.

your tracking tells you it went to sf customs?? mine still says foreign acceptance july 1st! and thats all since it got to the US. by the way, i live in oregon and the watch came july 10th. i wouldnt worry about tracking. just sit back and order another watch. :D

EDIT: i heard SF customs is the worse! and other forums (not watch) say if you can, to get it through NY customs if its possible. Apparently they say some dealers can actually route it that way. Not sure if its true. But i also heard if a package does get seized your address is put in their system and pretty much 'blacklisted' and will be on the look out for any goods delivered to your address. true or not, it would make sense cause of the ease of technology these days.

I have never had any problems getting a watch through S.F. customs. Of course it helps that I'm friends with Nash Bridges. :D

well considering USPS tracking and customs varies extremely there's really no advice anybody can give you besides to sit back, have a beer and forget about that watch in the mail. I bet it will come by friday or mid next week. keep us updated though, i really wish there was a thread on the average wait for US west coasters getting packages from china. For me its around 10 days since date shipped.

I haven't had any probs here in SF yet. Some of my EMS shipments come through LA, some through SF. All have made it...
