thanks for posting, it seems perhaps luckily or unluckily this place and the world of quality reps is still somewhat discreet. 8)

The vid also introduced me to Richard Mille watches.
They're quite interesting.

Great video, I don't think anyone came out of that looking good though.
If that's what gen owners are like then I'm sticking to the fakes - what a bunch of asshats!

Nice video. I didn't know the Mille watches. And brazilians prefer Massa over Barrichello. And Senna over all =D

Well as Tom Bolt said in the video about the quality of the Patek replica, if that replica only cost $300 then the genuine manufacturers are ripping people off.

I don't know how much it costs to produce a Patek, but there are other costs than material. You have to repay what you spent in research, designing... And for what I've been reading, those swiss manufacturers have their own assembly team. If here I pay 20 dollars/hour for housekeeping (70 bucks/week), imagine how much it costs to hire one of those swiss assemblers (the AVERAGE income here is 5000 usd/month). And another member told me that they spend a lot in advertising also. They can be ripping people off, but let's not assume until we know for sure.

The video promises to be a great watch, but.. has ANYONE gotten it to play in fullscreen? My eyes punish me every time I watch a video in such a small window, and it's really stupid and poor design/carelessness on the part of the site owners.

its not the fact that they are ripping people off... people are paying for the name more than anything. its a watch, why should a patek cost $20,000. Research and design? rolex has not made any "big" changes in their watches for years. is it the movement? no, movements havent changes "that much" for years as well. and if anything these luxury watch companies are just taking a common movement and putting their own "twist" on it.

if my $160 explorer I has the same gen weight, looks exactly the same, and beats at 8 ticks... well lets face it. rolex, your ripping people off. i dont care if you use white gold on the dial markers. i cant tell the difference.

If they were coming out with an ever changing product that would be different. With the exception of the last year, The basic Rolex models have not changed. The Sub has essentially been the same for almost 35 years.

I agree with philly and fakemaster. But is this true for all manufacturers? Another thing that can influence the prices is how they position themselves to the market. I don't know how much is a submariner, but let's say it's X. So they charge X because there are enough people, in their opinion, that pay X. Or they charge X because it is what they feel is the minimum a rolex should cost.

Use the Zoom feature in the bottom right corner of Internet Explorer. Try 200% / 400% or whatever works for your resolution and monitor.

amen, this is the reality. if it looks great on my wrist, keeps time and functions as it should and for all intents and purposes it "appears" to be exactly the same....and as fakey says, nobody is giving a damn anyway about my watch except me, if i can afford to toss 10k on something the next guy can get for $200 bucks then these big companies are ripping people off in a way. they are paying for a "feeling of satisfaction", not the watch.

But Rolex has costs that the rep company doesn't. Human resources in china are way cheaper than switzerland. Quality control, lifetime warranty (i don't know if it has, just guessing), advertising, sponsoring of events, research... All of this costs money, and is charged when you buy the watch. How much? I don't know.
Cost of the product is not only the cost of the material.
And again I say, I'm not justifying the price they charge.
