the 116618LB is a gen ?

Yes Dave. I have all papers etc etc for it. That watch is why this has all got to where it has! They didn’t believe me at TZUK that it was my watch until I posted up with a time someone requested me to set. If you can look on TZUK under my thread about full gold watches you will see it all there.

I also own a 1989 16618LB recently purchased from watchfinder. It is in the safe however I can send proof/details of that (if required) via email exchanges with watchfinder and with my own tagged photos.

Like I say it’s my credibility and well being that I am trying to protect now. Please work with me and I will provide everything you ask for but please respect that I will not post personal details here but more than happy to send directly to a mod or the boss.

Here is my genuine 116618LB.

I haven’t eaten for 24 hours because of all this worry. It’s not fair. Please study all the Information. All the proof is above.

In the thread on TZUK we were talking about my genuine 116618. It wasn’t believed it was mine by some people?!?! (Don’t know why? I was a new member with a gold watch? Who knows?!)

Someone who I proved wrong on TZUK decides to search my username which i use for all my forums and comes across me on the Rolex forum and here at RWI. I openly admitted that cookie88888 was ME on RWI. They then see that I advertised 2 Rolexes on the Rolex forum (one was a 116610LN) and assumed that because I am on RWI I was selling replicas as genuine! ???? They then start a witch hunt and the rest is history. All I am doing now is wanting to clear my name and rejoin the forum I have loved for 5 years at RWI.

There are many members on here who I have dealt with on here that can vouch for me.

I would not be going to all this effort and literally worrying myself to death if I wasn’t innocent.

What other details do you need please?

Sounds like a big misunderstanding. Being in some gen forums myself (I use different nicks to avoid this though) I know how they see our hobby. And, in their mind, it’s some sort of legend that a guy who owns gen could ever buy a rep. Nevertheless many of them still own reps. Lol

I can only apologise for the inconvenience caused to the mods and @trailboss with all of this. I love this forum, love watches and just want my innocence proved. I can’t say enough how strongly I feel about all of this. A mans credibility and respect is earned and should be cherished which I have done all my life with good strong family morals. I’m not prepared to lose it all.

The biggest misunderstanding of my life. Believe me! I have never felt like this before, it’s awful. Thank you for your comment.

If I could just add a note here of my own experience of cookie88888... I bought an SD from him last September, which prompted us getting connected on WhatsApp, and so we carried on swapping watch stories and nattering now and then like you do. He bought a Daytona I sold here too. So we have the usual watch-related chats and in the course of those a while back he sent me pics of the gen gold 5 digit Sub, describing it as "gone in the safe for my children one day". This was a conversation completely outside of the forum worlds, and I've got no reason to think he'd feel the need to feed me BS about the watch.

I always follow these sorry brig tales with interest, quite bemused and amazed at the lowlifes who try and put one over on the community. It's depressing yet compelling.

But in the case of cookie88888, it really seems to me that he's been the victim of presumptive conviction. And because of that, I'm perfectly happy to send screen grabs of my chat history with him to any admin who would like to see it, if it would help at all.

Thank you Neil. You are a true gent. Your comment means a lot to me (more than you know at this awful time for me). ????

Mods and boss - Please, please take this opportunity to review any messages (screen grabs) between myself and Neil - my honesty and sincerity is sure to shine through - I’m not trying to big myself up but I really don’t deserve all this bad press for literally doing NOTHING wrong.

As always- if you require any details/evidence then please feel free to ask as I am 1000% pursuing the fact that I am going to clear my name in this awful misunderstanding. I will try to do whatever it takes to protect myself. Thank you.

The reason why you are here is because someone reported you posted a pic of a fake 116618LB on the TZUK forum.

The one you just posted here in this thread looks like the real deal to me but I am no expert. Perhaps QueTip occb2 tripdog could have a quick look and confirm please.

This is the one posted on TZ, which is pretty much out of focus.

As for the 116610LN. There is damn all we can do about that as the sale has nothing to do with RWI. I would suggest you reach out to the buyer and ask him to help you to defend that one as it is unfair on them too to be made believe they bought a fake.

I can’t figure out why someone having a gen would post a rep in a gen forum.
I think this is more about someone seeing OP’s name on a rep forum and assumed the watch he posted can’t be anything but a rep.

That 116618 posted with the tag looks gen to me..

Hi C Master.
I will post up some more photos of my genuine 116618lb now to help all the mods - I have nothing to hide. It is the real deal! I can supply the insurance valuation certificate too, but not willing to supply on this thread as it contains my address and watch serial number, BUT I can send that over to you directly via private messages if you give me the opportunity to message you (currently I can only message in here due to my account restrictions). I can’t send over photos of the box and serial number card until tomorrow as all that is at my parents. But I WILL supply it to whichever mod needs it, no worries.

With regards to the genuine 116610LN that I have sold on eBay and was also advertised on the Rolex forum - I have just phoned the buyer of it to make him aware of all this mess. He is not a member of any forums but is happy to speak to anyone via phone call etc to confirm the sale and prove my innocence. He said he would also help me out by sending a photo of the watch, the original Robert Gatwood purchase receipt and a partial photo of the serial number - he can’t do this until lockdown is over though, as it is all kept at his mothers house in Telford. (Interestingly he said he doesn’t join forums for these reasons I am going through now, things easily get misinterpreted. He said initially “just forget about the forum and delete your account?” but I’m wanting to continue a hobby I love and prove myself innocent.

Also, although I am in the “brig” here I want to thank the great forum mods and boss for giving me the opportunity in here to explain myself....unlike the other forum where they didn’t even want to listen to me, and now I cannot even explain my innocence which is very unfortunate. Hopefully when all this is sorted someone can do the right thing for me and contact or post my innocence on the other forum - that would mean a lot to me.

No need for extra tags. I saw your post on TZ proving it was in your possession and I saw how they "proved" it was fake. If the experts here need more photos they will ask for them. I do not need them.

That truly looked like a witch hunt to me, I hope other members of RWI read it and can empathise with what it feels like when they dogpile new members here and jump to conclusions. This behaviour sickens me here never mind on other fora.

And here is my Genuine 1989 Rolex Submariner 16618LB purchased from watchfinder on 26th February 2020.

I cannot tag this watch as it is in the safe. I have a photo on my phone from the day I received it. Anyone doubting that this is mine - note the moles on my wrist haha. (Never did I think my moles would help to confirm myself in something). This is the exact watch that forum member p0pperini mentioned in his post above about being an heirloom.
