Great piece of music that is, one of John Williams best for sure! You have to give a head nod to the original Star Wars score. And didn't he do Jaws also? I'm with you with on Jurassic Park, probably my favourite. :D

I'd go for the Indiana Jones musical scores, John Williams has made lots of good movie themes... The musical score for the movie "Starwars I the Phantom Menace" is really fantastic too!

His finest works are Schindler's List and Catch Me If You Can IMNSHO. Superb scores both...

As a former band geek, Williams was one of the most diffucult composers that I have ever had the pleasure to play. With a tip of the hat to the most notable compositions, here are four that are most memorable to me:

Liberty Fanfare - for the rededication of The Statue of Liberty

Olympic Fanfare and Theme - for the '84 Summer Olympics

Prelude and Fugue (1965)

and my own personal favorite..... Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra (1985)

Being a bass clef player, Williams was most generous with giving everyone in the score their fair share of the limelight. Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra is, by far, one of the most brutal pieces I've ever played,

Thanks for taking me on a stroll down memory lane! :D

John Williams ( a personal favorite composer) has been around a Loooooooooong time -

I think he came to "public" fame with JAWS and Close Encounters, but before that, he did a lot of TV work - did you know he did:

THe THeme to "Lost in Space" (as Johnny Williams)
THe THeme to "The Time Tunnel" (as Johnny Williams)
THe THeme to "Land of the Giants" (as Johnny Williams)
20 Giligan's Island Episodes

just to name a few more "familiar" themes, you may not have known he did
